The problem started with my last Windows Update, version 2004, build 19041.450. When I ran Sandboxie, Windows complained about a compatibility problem. I then tried to install the latest version. According to Sandboxie Control, the errors are as follows: SBIE2331 Service start failed: [22 / 5] Access is denied. I am unable to start up Sandboxie. I get the following errors: SBIE2331 Service start failed [22 / 5] Access is denied. The Sandboxie driver [SbieDrv] is not available to sandbox programs. Make sure both the driver and Sandboxie service (SbieSvc) have started successfully. When I checked the service SbieSvc, I could not start the service, even if I tried to start it again.
Hi glickt, you didn't mention which version of Sandboxie you are using. You should tell. FWIW, I have Sandboxie 5.33.6 on W10 2004 with latest updates, all is well. If you are using David's version, perhaps he can help you later. Tell your SBIE version. Bo
I have the same issue. Windows 10, version 2004, build 19041.450. Sandboxie, version v5.42.1, 64-bit SBIE2331 Service start failed: [22 / 5] Access is denied. I uninstalled Sandboxie, version v5.42.1, 64-bit and then installed Sandboxie, version v5.33.3, 64-bit and everything is working as expected now.
I am pretty sure you have issues with the certificate that David uses. Put file(s) to WD exceptions! whole story here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sandboxie-plus-sbie-fork.427755/
I was waiting for an update to Sandboxie version 5.42.1. According to their download screen, no more updates would be issued. I was able to download version 5.33.3. Everything works fine.
There was a new version 5.43. It had the same problem as 5.42.1., I went back to version 5.33.3. Everything is working fine.
