When I try to open gmail on Outlook I get the attached box. When I fill it out, nothing happen. Outlook works fine with my other email accounts, ie, Mindspring, Hotmail, Yahoo. This just started happening today with no explanation. I even restored my Windows 10 with Macrium,... no change. Can anyone help?
This morning, I had to sign in again, too. But it worked for me. If your regular password is not accepted, you probably have two-factor security on your google account, so you need to generate an app password, and use that, instead of your regular password. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en
Make sure your google account is set to allow access for less secure apps, and your gmail account is set to allow IMAP.
Shmu26 is correct about "allowing less-secure apps", especially if you are accessing Gmail via Webmail or POP3. I experienced the same sign-in issue with one of my own Gmail accounts which is accessed by Webmail. The others are via IMAP access and I did not encounter a log-in issue with those accounts. Cheers!
Maybe the recent FAQ by Firetrust (MailWasher) about the Gmail change might give some help. I posted about it recently here in the MailWasher thread. That FAQ is here: https://www.firetrust.com/products/...y-asked-questions#gmail-password-requirements That FAQ gives two options. I don't know whether it will help you. I don't use Gmail.
Thanks. I already enable less secure apps. I don't use 2-factor verification. It looks like others are having the same problem from Gmail forum.
Did this resolve? I was having a weird problem this morning with Windows Hello blocking one of my Microsoft accounts in Outlook. I was able to resolve it, but my solution was specific to Microsoft accounts and wouldn't help with Gmail.
Issue has NOT resolved. I have tried everything possible shown in Office and Google Forums. Nothing worked.
