    Hi there,
The following description seems to be added to the Upgrade History of TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite version 3.29.
If you created boot media, you need to recreate boot media before restoring.

@Brian K Can you confirm - does this mean one has to recreate one's TBWinRE boot media?

    Paul,

Yes, if you are creating images with ver 3.29 then you need 3.29 media to restore these images.

What I do is not use a recovery env but a genuine Win Pe USB key. Then I just add the Image64 and win ini file to it and I am good to go.

    Thanks Pete ...
Brian, is that always the case with updates - or just a substantive change in ver 3.29?

It 's needed only when they perform a change in the archive structure (usually to support new features or optimizations).
    When is needed, they always mention it in the changelog (e.g. 2.77, 2.78, 2.86, 3.00, 3.07, 3.26, 3.29)

Tried the reagentc disable/enable but didn't work.
Maybe a bit beyond me ...

    Hello paulderdash,

I do not know the cause ...
But I think that there are the following two ways to create boot media.

    1. Create boot media for Image for Linux, Image for DOS.

The TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite includes Image for Windows, Image for Linux, Image for DOS.

If the installation option is default it should already be present in the Windows start menu.

Note: The TeraByte drive image files produced by Image for Windows are compatible across all TeraByte Unlimited disk imaging products of the same major version number (i.e. all 3.x products are compatible with other 3.x products). This gives you the flexibility to restore disk images using your component of choice.

    2. Install Image for Windows on another Windows computer and create boot media.

Incidentally, There is a possibility that it does not become license violation.
Because each single license purchased for non-business-use covers up to five computers.

I understand that these methods are NOT fundamental solutions...

    Best wishes,

Thanks for your help with these two potential solutions.

I have been in contact with support, and have not resolved it yet - still working on it ... there may be a system corruption of some sort (as I can't upgrade to v1809 either, will try v1903).

Support also suggested point 2. ...
