that is one "feature" I could do without , really do not like that , have had to many instances in the past where A/V makes a decision tha screws the system An option to quarantine or ignore would be welcome .

I am happy to say that all my machines have updated seamlessly to the latest BullGuard 2018 version automatically with no problems whatsoever and no user intervention required. I have never had a security software upgrade itself so effortlessly over the years I have used 'em.

Furthermore, I can just set BullGuard to maximum protection or default settings mode, and it will do a sublime job at protecting the PC - no matter the user, no matter the computer, everyone from parents to grandparents to my nieces and nephews are able to understand and use the program effectively.

I take this as a significant design win for BullGuard - one that deserves awards in software design.

I will continue with this product for the forseeable future, and it has replaced AVG (that I used on the majority of my family computers/laptops for 10 years) as the mainline security solution on most of my machines.

Two quick questions please. Does anyone know of hacks to do the following on Bullguard IS:

    1) Make Bullguard update it's malware defs at bootup.

    2) Make Bullguard update it's malware defs more often than once an hour.

I'm not a subscriber and don't know if this offer can be used to extend an expiration date for current subscribers but BullGuard has a sale going on (about 37 hrs left). Depending on the product purchased, it's offered at 20,50, or 65% off.

Tried a few others, especially my 'free' two year KIS gift when Outpost folded, comodo, avast, etc. kept coming back to Bullguard. Can't edit firewall rules like Outpost, but I always seen to come back to BullGuard.

Thanks for the feedback, I am finding it non-intrusive so far although I hate the UI how it shows me stuff to upgrade when I only bought the AV because that's all I need but I can live with that. It's light on my system as well.

Hmm. Don't get those, I've fiddled with the settings tho, there's a box to ick to minimise notifications, not sure if that's what you need or if it's on the AV version.

    Ah, see what you
mean now. I don't get them in the full version. Can you click the up arrows in the blue circles?

Negative, clicking the up arrow in the blue circles does nothing. I wish there was a way to collapse them at least. I contacted BullGuard via chat and they said they have no plans to remove them

I would never use a product that give me a broken down UI (which is what I call the AV screenshot above) particularly on a paid version.

It's a pity that bullguard just use the signatures of bitdefender. Just their ( poor) behavior blocker is a own development. I like bullguard, but they have enough hard work to improve the product

Just how poor is BullGuard's BB? It seems to do OK on most tests from AV-C and AV-Test, and the youtube videos aren't too harsh on it either....

I have actually experienced that situation personally, hence I too do not favour products highly reliant on the cloud.

I am happy to say BullGuard's reliance on the cloud is quite minimal for now, with only BB dynamic decisions and some whitelisting occuring via cloud (when cloud is not accessible, there is a separate definitions file regularly updated for this purpose).

UPDATE: BullGuard now uses BitDefender cloud scan (Nimbus) in addition to engine and signatures. This change has occurred via a recent program update.

EDIT: ELAM (Early Launch Anti-Malware) and AMSI (Anti-Malware Software Interface) support added in new BullGuard release.

where did you find this information? I chatted with BullGuard support today, they told me BD cloud is only mobile version off BullGuard
