What is "Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface"? Looks kinda important.

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005666/mini-pcs/intel-nuc-boards.html

For those that remember, I had trouble updating one machine to 1803 and after I finally was able to restore a MR image on that machine (thanks again @Peter2150 ), 1803 has been constantly trying to install and three times it failed which resulting in my machine reverting to 1709. Today the upgrade to 1803 succeeded but when I check Device Manager I find ""intel trusted execution engine interface" is disabled. If I try to install the driver I get a BSOD. Should I ignore that device for now? The machine seems to run OK without it.

I did manage to clean install 1803 on that machine the other day after a BSOD at first. When I checked Device Manager that device was disabled and the driver wasn't installed. Trying to install the driver resulted in a BSOD, so for what ever reason this machine + "intel trusted execution engine interface" is not compatible.

    Advice welcome.

    Thanks.

I have the issue that I don't get the cumulative update. (like kb4338819) Other updates work. I got the flashplayer one, for example. Any ideas? I'm still 17134.137 :'(
I have downloaded the update in question manually, but I wait for it to show up in real-life to see what is wrong.

What shows up when you press ''Check for Updates'' in Win Updates settings panel?

I've installed 2018-07 Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4338821), hoping that it will fix problem's I've had with torrent clients after July update.

CUM updates for windows 10 were released for July 16 as indicated here, but did anyone get these offered to them via Windows Update?

The reason I ask is that one of my systems has v1709 installed and there was no notice for the July 16 CUM update via WU. I'm wondering if this was the case for all the listed verisons.

I run 1803 pro and I didn't even get the one before this one. So ... *puppy*
My search for updates is configured to not include peer-to-peer sources. I guess that if why I did not yet get them. I have to ask microsoft support.

EDIT: No... the guy says I should just download them and install. He also said that is not advised to do that without reason... Whatever :D
... and that those services should be configured to run automatically: Background Intelligent Transfer Service, Cryptographic Services and Windows Update

I did for ver. 1803 but via a manual Win Updates request. I believe the fact this update is an "enhancement" versus a critical one might be a factor.

Well, turns out I can't install them even if I download them. Typical, unresolveable error: 0x8E5E0408
Why does Windows never work for more than a month?

I don't use a Microsoft Account in Windows, but I try and see if anything from there works. :)

EDIT: Can't believe that creating another User account and running the update from there worked... I had so many problem with updates before! Thank you very much :)
BTW that installation killed my Comodo Firewall and I had to reinstall it.

I manually ran check for updates throughout the days and always received system is up to date. Microsoft's update scheme isn't very consistent and wastes my time wondering who's problem it is when updates don't appear or even disappear like in Win7.

After applying preview update for Windows 7, it seems that problems with torrent clients are sorted out :thumb:

Windows Update has just removed all my patches for July on W7/64. This morning Net Framework Rollup as well. I am being inundated with Previews (all optional) for 2017.. I have even received a preview for April 2017 Monthly quality rollup. Hiding them as they appear (I do not install previews) generates yet another. I did a quick Google search and I see that MS has pulled the Net Framework patches for July due to numerous problems, but it sure does not explain why Windows Update is spewing out old previews, one after another.

If updates are pulled by Microsoft, or hid by yourself, Windows Update will offer the last available updates. If the regular rollups are pulled, the previews will be offered. If the previews are hid, the next last available not-hidden previews will be offered.
I am not sure if this is what you are seeing.

That is the way it is supposed to work, however there is no logic to what I am seeing now. This random selection of previews was provoked by MS when they pulled all the recommended updates for July. Now I am also getting the 2016 previews for the monthly rollups.

    @JRViejo
Your screenshot still has the July updates displayed - all of mine were removed completely. Having now hid all the random Previews for 2017 and the one for April 2016, WU now displays the same 2 optional unchecked updates that you have. The monthly rollup and Net Framework 4.7.2 are now back but both are unchecked/important. I had already hid KB2952664 and KB890830. Seems we are now back on the same page.

JR, I wonder if you were not seeing what I did because you have not interacted with WU this month.

Could be emmjay. I usually don't check updates until about a week before the next Bork Tuesday. :)
