Check the output file from below. This will show the current active updates.
    Code:

In reference to the ops response, that is what was done - "no items match your search". A search for the update in question was entered.

I do agree that just looking at the listed updates does not always render correct info and that is why I suggested the command line also be tried.

DISM is also an excellent tool to use on W7. I use power shell but most users are not familiar with it.

For this exercise I just wanted to point out that KB3031432 is a troublesome update. It has a reputation of popping up after a disk clean up for no apparent reason. It has always been a troublesome update. I wanted the op to know that it was an anomaly. Nothing to be concerned about.

"The big issue was the Windows 7 loss of static IP addresses after the install of March and April updates on some machines. Microsoft re-packaged and released the April 10 update of 4093118 to include the networking fix on Thursday April 12th. If you installed the prior version and had no issues, you do not need to install this revised version".

    @Dragon1952. Tnx for heads up

Well I guess this is the first known exploit, or proof that it is easy to exploit the vulnerability, for Total Meltdown. W7/64 only.

The standalone fix for Total Meltdown is problematic, so many users have avoided it, but it would be a good idea to get the April updates installed if you have been in a holding pattern. At least get the security-only patch installed if you are still wary of the monthly rollup.

Thats exactly what I am going to do. My W7 is 32 bits, all I install going back forever is the security only updates. Since January (due to the missing registry key), I have been downloading the package from the catalogue. I haven't experienced any issue whatsoever.

Now that MS is not looking anymore for the registry key, when I check for updates, I don't get the security only package anymore as I used to. Now I get one of the other updates. So, for now, I will continue downloading the security only update from the catalogue. But I am going to wait till a day or two before Mays update is released. :)

Earlier today I installed KB4093108 Security only update for April in my W7 32 bits. All appears well. What was encouraging was that the KB page from Microsoft has not been modified since April 13th. :)

The network driver issue appears isolated, but...

Yesterday, May 24, Microsoft updated the documentation on KB4103718 (May 8 rollup for W7) with the removal of references to the network driver issue. See post #537 above.
    - There is no indication that the problem has been solved.
    - If it has been solved, there is no indication that this update has received a code change (i.e. re-release).

If you uninstalled the May rollup for W7 because this issue impacted you, it would be best to leave it that way. It is possible that MS will document the issue in the June rollup if a fix exists or if it is still outstanding.
    - The vast majority of users did not face any networking issues with this update.
    - It is also possible that the issue is associated with how MS messed up the release of KB4099950.

It looks like the NIC problem was, or is caused by a third party software, but which company.

If this update is a roll up, why Microsoft in MicrosoftUpdate Catalog says " security update " ? 220 MB !!!

Because KB4103718 Monthly Rollup is a security update (or better said: it includes security updates).
Also the KB4103718 knowledge base article says: "This security update" [...].
To differentiate the Monthly Rollups and the Security-only updates, the latter ones are mentioned as "Security-only updates".

On my Win 7 box with no Monthly Rollup's installed, only Security Only updates, WU is now offering both the Dec '17 and June '18 Monthly Rollup's, where it previously would only offer the latest Rollup.
