The solution is to use version 5.0.2.0.
I don't get the logic here. WFC, even without the notifications offers an easier way to deal with Windows Firewall rules. I don't see why someone would struggle with WFwAS. WFC is still a standalone product which is available for everyone to download and use. It can be still activated by already registered users. Remember Winamp? The last version is from 2013 and I (and many millions of users) continue to use it also in 2018. It is still a powerful media player even if it did not get any new updates in the past 5 years. WFC is a front end for Windows Firewall. As long Microsoft does not remove the support for Windows Firewall API, WFC will continue to work with Windows Firewall, for years, like it worked since Windows Vista came out in 2007.

Regarding lifetime licenses, nobody can provide a software that will continue to work for 50 years. I had some games (Sonic R. was one of them) bought when Windows 98 was out. They didn't work anymore, not even on Windows XP. I still have those licenses, but I can't install and play those games anymore because I would need an older machine. Virtual machines can't help either because these games require 3D acceleration which really sucks in virtual environments. At some point, WFC will become obsolete like any other software or game. Nobody can tell how the technology will evolve in the next 10 years.

    I answered here - https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...-by-binisoft-org.347370/page-168#post-2751095
As for the struggle, I only allow outbound connections for programs that already have a rule so software installations fail until a rule is created which makes it less than ideal.

Plus, you are recommending to go back several versions (5.0.2.0) due to a bug while using secure rules. If there aren't going to be bug fixes then I don't care to use it.

You have developed an awesome piece of software and unmatched support. I appreciate it.

WFC in the recommended mode + Secure Rule + Secure Profile.
If you connect a mobile USB 3.0 HDD, my security program blocks this process
    What is this and why?
Blocking the process does not affect the performance of USB HDD.

This command is executed by WFC when an USB drive is inserted. It has two purposes:
    1. In case Windows Firewall is disabled, it will re-enable it, so that autorun items will not be able to connect to the Internet.
    2. It will force Windows Firewall to refresh the state of its rules so that any firewall rule that is created for an exe file located on the USB drive will continue to work. Otherwise, the rules won't work because the internal GUID of the mounted drive is different each time the drive is inserted, even if the drive letter is the same.
My recommendation is to define an exception in your security software to allow this process to be executed.

Thank! I realized that this is the legal and correct action of the WFC and it is necessary to allow its execute.

Binisoft.org cannot be reached. Nice. Hopefully, this is temporary.

Every website goes down every now and then, usually for maintenance. It's quite common on Sundays. Perhaps the new product(s) are being prepared to appear on the website. Let's not get paranoid...

    1) Windows Firewall with Advanced Security --> Export Policy... --> Save the file (i.e. "Firewallrules.wfw") on your PC (i.e. on C:\)
    2) Open notepad and type this:
    3) Save it as a .bat file (i.e. "C:\Firewallrules.bat")
    4) Open Task Scheduler and add a task to run "C:\Firewallrules.bat" (with "-elevated" argument) at every boot
That's it, at every boot your rules will be restored, even if Windows Update changed them :)
If later you manually change the firewall rules, just export the policy file again and overwrite the old one

That's a cool tip imuade, thanks - although I'm more worried about other programs and/or malware tampering with the WF rather than Windows Update.

Really nice! So tomorrow we'll see intriguing news!
This should be combined with turning Off the network adapter at each reboot (also via .bat).

I tried it as i wrote and it worked without the command to turn off network adapter (even if i think it's turned off and then on at every boot )

.bat works, there are no problems. Disabling the network adapter is an additional condition (but it is not mandatory), increasing security, so that during the rewriting of the rules, completely protect the machine from all connections.

    Ok i got it.
I have WF set to block all in and out connections not matching a rule, so during the rewriting process no connection are allowed :)

Site's back up now. I am a little paranoid because I cannot find a firewall helper that is greater than or equal to WFC by Binisoft.

It seems that the problem was from the hosting company: https://twitter.com/a2hosting Many websites were affected, not only binisoft.org. The website is now back online.

So is this still the case? Are Windows 10 users recommended to downgrade versions or could this be a bug with Windows 10 that MS might fix? Wondering if Alexandrud knows more on the matter now.

I'll rephrase my question, if on Windows 10 1709 with WFC 5.3.0.0, what can we expect when the 1803 update hits? Is it just that the 'Secure Rule' can't be changed, so if it's already unchecked it can't be checked, and if it is currently checked it can't be unchecked? So leaving it unchecked for 1803 and nothing bad could happen?

Apparently someone from Microsoft (after 12 years) decided to change an account name from MpsSvc to mpssvc in version 1803. Unfortunately, WFC will always return true when checking the status of Secure Rules and Secure Profile because WFC searches for MpsSvc and it gets mpssvc which has a different case. This is something that I did not take into consideration :( Secure Rules and Secure Profile will always appear as checked when opening the Security tab when using WFC 5.3.0.0. and Windows 10 version 1803. However, they still work. You can set/unset them and they will set the appropriate permissions in Windows Registry. But, next time when you open the Security tab, they will appear as checked if they are checked for real and also checked if they are not actually checked. So, if you modify them, their status is the one from when you close the Main Panel.
