Sandoxie doesnt interfere with Windows updates so more than likely, it didn't have anything to do with the failures.

Just did todays W10 updates with EAM ,Sandboxie and OSArmour(active) including a reboot, and had no issues.

 

Yes, here also on two machines, went very well. Have AppCheck (free--demoing it) on one with MBR protection enabled. I disabled it in anticipation of the restart but when machine restarted, it was enabled again. Maybe it's something to ask, if these applications can have a feature to remain disabled after restart, esp. for Windows Updates and other things and to make a sound or notice to remind you it's still off after restart.

In my W10, other than KB4074588 and the Malicious Software Removal Tool, I also got KB4087256 (a Servicing stack update). The update went well but it took a long time. For a while I thought there was a problem as it got stuck at 11% while downloading. I checked my internet and it was fine.

Fortunately someone came to see me and got busy for a little while, that took my mind away from the computer. I ll say probably the whole process, from the machine checking for updates automatically to reboot took about an hour and a half. To this point I have not experienced an error or issue while updating W10, I thought today was gonna be the first, thankfully it was not.

Yes, most people hide KB2952664. It is a spying update.

I have 2 fast laptops on Win 10, and I noticed that if I trigger the cumulative update while I'm browsing it always get stuck with an error, with no activity with the machine the update is flawless. Coincidence? Maybe...

 

When I update, I don't do nothing but baby sit the update. The only thing I do sometimes is open Task manager to check the speed while the update is downloading. I did that today and it was what it was supposed to be.

I had forgotten that today is update Tuesday, when I started the laptop early in the morning, the computer checked for updates but there was no update. Later on when I read someone say that he had updated his PC, I realized that today is Tuesday and decided to reboot and let the machine do the update automatically instead of just manually checking and doing the update that way. I did it it this way to make sure automatic updates is working properly.

After starting the laptop everything seemed fine but downloading got stuck at 11% for a long time. So, to make sure my internet was good, I opened Firefox and all was well. But normally I don't do that. I dont like doing things while the update is processing. Anyway, all seems fine. I rebooted another time during the day and it was perfect. I cant see anything wrong.

Just like last month, the cumulative update doesn't show up again on my Windows Update. That time, I decided not to install any update and just wait until the update gets rolled out automatically.

But today it still doesn't show up, I only got Malicious Software Removal Tool. I'm worried because this is the 2nd month I don't get any cumulative update, so I just download and install it manually on my Windows 10 laptop. Everything went well, no problem with the installation. Will update if I encounter any problem.

Now I'm more worried if my Windows Update is broken. I've tried to run Windows Update Troubleshooter and sfc /scannow, but it didn't find any problem. I even try resetting my Windows Update using this .bat file. I hope next month my Windows Update will get back to normal.

 

This is pretty normal as I believe it depends on how loaded are servers, my two machines are often updated simultaneously and there are still significant differences in download speed notwithstanding the fact I have a very fast connection.

Yes this link should be used if one gets errors during the update, it is definitely not normal. Have you tried to restore an image of your system? If push comes to shove, you might have to re-install Windows or try to contact MS support...

 

All OK here after the updates. Asus AI Suites 2 and 3 have stated working again (two computers). The Suites haven't worked since the 1709 update last year.

 

I don’t get any Windows 10 x64 1709 updates offered (I do get some on a test installation of the same OS on a different drive, but it ends up as 16299.125).

This happened once before. Then HitmanPro.Alert was the culprit, but the instructions to fix this don’t help this time.

How to debug/solve this?

(I already ran the Windows troubleshooter which reloaded the WU database, but that did not help).

 

Download and manually install the KB4074588 from MS Update Catalog.

 

That's probably what I will end up doing, but it bothers me that I need to manually install patches (for 2 months now).

Maybe I should start clean when 1803 arrives. Is there already an ETA for that?

Did you still receive other updates besides the cumulative ones? I have the same problem as you, but in my case I still receive offer for Malicious Software Removal Tool.
