I don't have much on my computer, 419 GB free off 494 GB.
    That may explain or not.
Yes I kept monitoring during the scan time. CPU usage did fluctuate but never went above 5%.
I wish I had an answer for the poor performance in your computer. I run the AV on default mode.

    Hi all

In the first phase, the US and Canada now receive the security tool. The English language version is available on this page. In the second phase (5-7 September), the Middle East, Africa and Turkey will follow. Between October 3 and 8, Kaspersky Free will be launched in many other European countries, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

    Kaspersky Free startet: Neuer Gratis-Antivirus-Schutz

    With best Regards

I enabled Postpone computer scan tasks, but there was still a noticeable drop in performance.

With the installer stub, I had whitelist list it via TinyWall before it would download the 146 MB AV package for installation.

Any words about the license? It seems to be free only for a year?

I think it will be like Avira. It's perpetual and will renew it's licence automatically.

Forgot about good old Avast. Because I usually run AV free these day's. Luke Filewalker and me were good mates though back in the day so just an oversight lol

Are you using any sort of Firewall Control or anti.exe of any kind?

Maybe try a different download. I come across something strange. There is a file ending in 12579.exe and a file ending in 12575.exe floating around.

Something maybe I've forgotten but how does 12579 from Hiltihome on page two of this thread and 12575 which came from Australian Kaspersky website all in the same 24 hour period (same release cycle as US, Canada release) but they have different file sizes and hashs? Don't tell me I'm losing it (I am under a lot of stress at the moment) :O

Different downloaders that in the end download the same files.

Yup. Same product - different countries and the English will be slightly different.

Different english localizations are indicated with en-us, en-au, en-gb etc. in file name. In this case, the difference is only the numbers at the end- a different revision of the downloader stub and the localization will be determined during installation, depending on the OS.
