Ah, the program updates(or basically d/ling the full setup and installing) is another PITA aspect of adguard. They only solve matters of life and death, your case doesn't fall in either category. Btw, I don't know this guy, neither he is staff or a member of Adguard team, so his views are objective.
Hi, everybody! Thanks to @Awesome Donkey and @CHEFKOCH who inspired me to do it, I've come up with a very detailed article on the HTTPS filtering topic: https://blog.adguard.com/en/everything-about-https-filtering/ Additionally, I have collected all the known issues of the current HTTPS filtering implementation in a single knowledge base article. Besides issues description, there is an ETA on when we plan to resolve it: https://kb.adguard.com/en/general/https-filtering/https-filtering-known-issues
Forum server is in Amsterdam. Website and backend server are in Moscow for now, migration to Amsterdam will occur in a week or so (1-2 hour downtime is required, trying to prepare for it).
You know what, I guess I know what's going on. We use Cloudflare to serve updates (and it is also used as a frontend of all our websites), so it seems that connectivity to Cloudflare is really bad from your place. Which is weird, they have a hell of a lot of servers in the Valley.
Among other external sources, Adguard forum also loads a script from piwik which is a web analytics platform. So good for an adblocking program that aims to protect your privacy.
Odd, I don't find Adguard's main site or forums to load up slowly at all. They load up pretty quickly here. Nice! If you're going with CRLSets, keep in mind it updates constantly (seems like daily there's an update, which I update in Chrome from chrome://components). So delivering CRLSets updates like filter updates might be a good idea there.
Well done! It was needed to make it clear and you did it in the best possible way, i.e. thoroughly and fully understandable, not only for advanced users. ;-)
Windows 10 Edge, IE: We're now blocking sites signed with SHA-1 certs, says Microsoft Microsoft drops browser support for HTTPS certificates signed with the SHA-1 hashing algorithm http://www.zdnet.com/article/window...sites-signed-with-sha-1-certs-says-microsoft/
Yup, we've dropped leaf SHA-1 certificates a while ago, intermediate certificates are to be dropped in v6.2 (already done in beta): https://kb.adguard.com/en/general/https-filtering/https-filtering-known-issues#phasing-out-sha-1
@avatar The issue with TCP Fast Open has finally been resolved, correct? https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForWindows/issues/1093

Does Adguard works for Chromium browser, Chromium-based and Mozilla-based browser besides IE, Chrome, FF, Opera, Edge and Safari browsers only? Thanks
Adguard For Desktop work for all browsers. Even if your browser isn't there , you can add it manually.
I ask cause it says that two days ago it was resolved, and I wanted to confirm here. Adguard for Windows(Paid/Trial) is system-wide, so it should work with all browsers. You should be able to see a list of browsers, and if the one you use isn't listed you should be able to add it. There's also the Extensions(Free) for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. If Opera or any other chromium-based/Mozilla-based browser can have extensions installed, then it should work.
How good is Adguard against ad/tracker/malware/analytics/phishing/fraud/social widget etc? Do I need extensions if I have Adguard for desktop alone? If yes, what are the complimentary extensions to use with Adguard for better privacy protection? BTW, I thought I saw a russian version of Adguard portable when I did a search on the net. Is there one for english version? Thanks
