The creator update is rolling out in stages, you could get it tomorrow or in a few months time. If you want it before then either run the Update Assistant or use the media download tool on the same page.

Currently I am yes. No issues so far. I was previously using OpenDNS.

No issues for me in WDSC for my portable devices. Have you tried uninstalling the drives from Device Manager (including uninstalling hidden drives) and getting Windows to find the driver again when you plug in the drive(s).

AirVPN appears to use Open VPN also. So with Adguard DNS is there a monthly fee? I have Air VPN, Adguard for Windows and my ISP.
my sister is on same ISP so I don't thing I could dump that unless I installed something on her Linux system that doesn't need an ISP.
I guess I always though you needed your ISP besides a VPN.

It is currently free but they will be having a paid service with more control at a later date. Simply add their DNS server IP addresses and you are good to go. May want to ping and do a traceroute first to see if it is even an option for you at this point in time.

Than I will rather wait automatic download and installation of Creators update for the next several months, I have no reason to upgrade at all-since you said that it's rolling out in stages.

    I may try that.

At the moment I am not bothered by the yellow triangle warning because the WDSC icon is not even showing on my taskbar lol.

paulderdash... don't be scared about removing installed & problematic drivers via Device Manager.

When you remove ... ' Uninstall device ' via Device Manager, you'll be fine as long as you don't place a checkmark for 'Delete the driver software for this device. ' on the following dialog screen.

All you'd be doing is removing the installed driver but won't remove the driver package from Windows DriverStore ... a secure location on the local drive.

Windows will automatically re-install the driver from the DriverStore on re-boot. Or you can force it to re-install without re-booting by using ' Scan for hardware changes ' via Device Manager.

Ultimate goal, refreshing the driver installation that usually fixes such issues.

Is it just me or is Microsoft timing major Windows releases to go head to head with Ubuntu spring and fall rollouts? Sure looks like it.

Anyone else have sign-in disabled and sign-in set to Never in Settings? You should never have to sign in, right? If I choose High Performance option in Control Panel/Power Plan, I have to sign in when machine wakes from sleep, plus there's a DCOM error. I get the desktop as usual with the Balanced plan. Haven't found any info on this online yet, for Creators Build. I have a local Admin. account.

Try the Bitsum ParkControl Pro. You can download and install it today for free on GOTD.

Thanks, NormanF. I looked at Bitsum, among other things, it looks like it adjusts your power plan to the current needs of the machine-- right? Hmmm, interesting.. Do you or anyone use this software? Amazing, there's a software(s) for anything and everything. :)

It probably just looks that way this time. They aren't competing as Ubuntu probably has less than 1% desktop market share, and servers would likely stay on the LTS versions if they run Ubuntu at all.

I run the free version of Process Lasso and I upgraded the ParkControl applet to Pro. Keeps my computer running smooth by regulating CPU output. Its good when CPU isn't 100% all the time.

I am curious. Do you run both side by side?

Microsoft don't make it easy to download the ISO any more. I followed the advice given here and installed the Chrome extension, User-Agent Switcher which tricked the download site to think I'm on a Mac. Downloading the ISO now.

On old HP netbook: Didn't want to wait for Windows Update, so tried Upgrade Assistant but this failed even with security softs CFW (cruelsister settings), 360 TS, VS disabled, or after clean boot.

But using MCT the upgrade worked fine.

Is this a warning of things to come with future W10 builds?

I haven't received it yet and I have "older" hardware. I do see "chucks" of it being downloaded on each cold boot when auto Win Update check is run based on the large file download sizes I have observed. My take is that "parts" of CU are being installed on existing AU builds and MS is monitoring how they behave.
