As I said: ProActive is gone since version 15.0.13.202 (Update 13) released Sept 22, 2015
    -----------------------
"Their latest info", says the half truth (proactive is not available on x64 systems).
The whole truth is: proactive is not available on x64 systems, proactive removed from x32 systems since version 15.0.13.202 (Update 13) released Sept 22, 2015

Yep, was surprised last night when Avira flagged antilogger as it was updating.

I had several customers machines, running WIN10, WD and ZAM paid,
until there owners decided to install Avira-free...

Avira quarantined ZAM, and the customers complained about that.
This happened a while back, after the last pushed ZAM update was rolled out.

I'm thinking about a policy to block avira from running...
The issue is, that I can't block the installer, because the file name changes often.
Blocking the service would leave the machine corrupted...

Anon, is this the standard web protection included in AV pro/Internet Security (and possibly free? Can't remember) or is this part of their Browser Safety browser plugin?

Is there any way to set Avira Pro for manual program updates? It seems to run these updates automatically when they are pushed out. Not referring to signatures, just the product versions.

It is not 'low', rather it hasn't scored 100% (99.2%), which means it did not detect 3 items out of 383, with 0 FPs. Others have scored 100%, but with lots of FPs, F-Secure as an example has 37 FPs...

A closer look in (AV-C Real-World Protection Test) monthly results tells that most of the other AVs improved a lot, while Avira is making a step backwards.
    A very bad starting for 2017: Avira position= 14th.......

Over the long term, Avira has consistently produced among the best results. 99.2 for one report ain't anything to get in a kerfuffle about

Don't stay in score only. Look the Avira's current position = 14th.
Is it a good starting for 2017 tests? I don't think so.

Bitdefender at 100%,with 0 false detections, is looking good in this crowd! I am running Bitdefender Free on one computer, and it has a nice set n forget workflow :)

As a former Avast user, I became concerned about their detection rate slipping from top tier and staying there, so I that is why I moved to Avira. If Avira has a blip on the chart I hope it's just a one time thing, so nothing to worry about. No AV is really 100% anyway, so that is why we need to layer our security, be smart, and practice safe computing :)

For sure ;) Avira is one of the best avs out ( if not the best...)

Does anyone here the optimal ( max security ) settings for Avira?
