Symantec is back? Good job Panda Free outperforming all paid AVs except Bitdefender.
    Too many FPs from Microsoft.

Nice to see Symantec back and CrowdStrike as newcomer.

Vipre has come "roaring back" from being "in the toilet" a while back. McAfee on the other hand appears to be heading to "the dumper."

Cloudstrike on the other hand has shown that a "next gen" product can score decently against conventional testing methods. Cylance are you listening?

that happened 2 years ago and it affected qihoo rather than tencent.
tencent has been being tested by av-c and vb100, with great results on both.
and even if qihoo was banned from testing, cruelsister has high consideration of their sw

I don't understand why so many people from Wilders (see polls) use Microsoft. It has both high compromised and high false positives.

I no longer use Tencent, but they have been consistently doing very well lately.

So you blindly believe in these kind of tests?

The sample set is way too small to test in a month. It isn't even close to what number comes out everyday.Still a interesting stat to talk about though. ;)

No More QuickHeal in this test? ;)

    +1 :argh:

I can assure you, most people will encounter maybe 5-10 malware in their whole life and most of them will need users interactions in some ways, so unless you are a dumb stupid happy clickers, you won't be infected whatever the product you are using. Those tets are just for vendors marketing. Why do you think they pay for it...?

    Annon nailed it right.

If one refers to page 9 of the report, it shows the minimum and maximum protection range. Note that AV-C tests continuously over the months specified for the test period. It is also quite common for a AV security product not to score the same during the entire test period. The final score given in the test report is an average for the entire test period.

So one should also note the range shown:
    • If the range is very narrow in scope, it indicates the product is consistent in its detection rate regardless of malware encountered.
    • If the range is wide in scope, it indicates the product is "sensitive" to the type of malware encountered. That is, it is less effective against certain malware types.

What do you think about Tencent in comparison with Qihoo 360TS ?

360 TS has better proactive protection, but I prefer TSE to TS. If you want alerts kept to a minimum use Tencent, or for better protection use TS/TSE.

Yeah... Had 3 years Norton license for 10 computers, but i threw it away.. (and so did 2 óf my friends, whom i gave free licenses to.. lol)
Now I'm back to using only Windows' own firewall (with TinyWall as an frontend to it,for easier and faster control+some extras..)
Got Panda Free installed on all of my laptops, and it has a very low impact on the system performance.
    Quite happy with it.

    @anon: thanks for the update!
