    Just had a freeze running VS 3.38B, where do I access the log files to submit, and where do I submit them too?

    No, I haven't yet. I'm running 3.38 on 2 desktops and 1 laptop. Iv'e only experienced the freeze on the 1 desktop, and not the other 2 as of yet. I disabled VS for a software uninstall, and when I went back into VS to re-enable it, the menu froze and I had to force close VS.

    I will turn off the AI on that machine now.

    There is no Allow button.

    I had the same issue yesterday with the no "Allow Button".... To get around it, I had to put VS in Disable/Install Mode to install the Google Chrome update.

    I just a quick thought… I hardly ever have VS freeze anymore, and I think it pretty much only happens when a computer goes to sleep (or possibly hibernation / screensaver).

    So anyone who has a consistent freeze issue, if you would not mind temporarily adjusting your sleep, hibernation and screen saver settings to different values, to possibly see what triggers the freeze, that would be a lot of help, thank you!

    BTW, the missing allow buttons from the above posts will be an easy fix ;).

    The freeze I had on one of my systems yesterday was not caused by a sleep/hibernation issue in my case, as none of my systems sleep/hibernate at any time other than the monitor sleeping. When the freeze happened to me, I was uninstalling a program, so I clicked on the disable/install mode, and then finished the uninstall, when I went back in to re-enable "Smart", the menu popped up from the tray and then it froze. Had to use task manager to force close VS, and then restart it.

    Have you always run all of the above software together real time :doubt:
    I'd hazard a guess and say something is clashing with VS here.

    I have been running three of the same real time security softs, (WSA, HMP.A and VS) for a while now and have never had a freezing issue. Currently 338 is running smoothly.

    And another weird thing, the freeze only happens on 1 out the 3 PC's that I have. All have the same software configuration. :thumbd:

  14. @Bowhunter26

    Well that is interesting. Is the software configuration of installed programs exactly the same.

    What about hardware (and drivers)? Could you tell us what brand PC (or motherboard) the freeze happens, which audio and which video and how much memory?

    thx

    @VoodooShield

    I had freezes with all the betas prior to 3.38b, but now have not had a single freeze for more than a week. Before 3.38b I was getting them nearly every day.

    The only other change is I removed Zemana Anti Malware, because the background updater appeared to be conflicting with VS.

    I'm going to reinstall it and see whether the freeze issue returns.

    The plot thickens ;)
    Wonder if VS freezes on vanilla Windows install :cautious:
    With so many folks using multiple security softwares it's gonna be a hard bug to pin down.

    Vanilla with a couple of chocolate chips. Windows firewall/Defender and HitmanPro Alert, nothing else active. No Chrome ever. Still think for me it's a sleep-related issue but I'm too wimpy to apply the available BIOS flash.

    The security software and versions are all the same on all machines, but none are the same specs as each other in terms of hardware. The freeze happened on the machine below. Haven't had another freeze since the other day though.

    regarding command lines for printing:
    printing from a local folder was not that hard to solve, but printing from internet page needed asterisks to be inserted in several places. This is what worked for me. I put the relevant parts in bold:
    rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3\hpinksts7212.dll,rundllentry friendlyname=hp officejet pro 6830;jobid=*;serialnumber=*;docname=*=;monitorname=dynamic print monitor;callstate=primary;

    A quick update. I've been running 3.38 since it was announced a couple of weeks ago.

    I'm happy to report that I've had no freezes with this version apart from one immediately after installing it. Rebooted and no further problems.

    This is the first version for some time that has run without freezing - with and without VAi ticked. Good job.

    Hey everyone, sorry I have been away, I will be back soon ;).

    The next time someone has a freeze, can you please open Task Manager, and go to the Details tab, right click on the VoodooShield process, and select "Create dump file", and send me that file?

    I think we are getting close, thank you guys!

    Dan, I tried that months ago [May in fact] but you weren't interested in the .DMP then. :rolleyes:

    Maybe the freeze issue could of been resolved months ago?
