I will catch up on the posts I missed asap... it might be a couple of days.

Here is the latest version. It turns out that the freeze issue, I believe, were 5-6 different cross threading issues in the main GUI thread, and I fixed the last 2-3 in this version... notice how the last version was much more stable than the previous version? I think this version should be even more stable.

I am hoping that all of these freeze issues are resolved, but please let me know if it freezes again. Basically, what I did was name the main GUI thread, then performed a check on every sub on the main thread, before it ran.

There are a few other fixes in this version as well. For example, the user mini prompts no longer populate to the left, above the task bar. Now, when more than one item is blocked, the mini prompts will stack on top of each other, and any prompt below the top most prompt will keep the countdown timer at 20 seconds, until it is the top prompt. It is hard to explain, but you guys will see. askmark mentioned that they were not working correctly (thank you Mark)... and I was never happy with the way they worked, so I fixed it. Let me know what you guys think... if you think it is better that they populate to the left, we can change it back... or we can make it optional to either populate to the left or stack them on top of each other.

Here is the latest version: https://voodooshield.com/Download/beta3/InstallVoodooShield.exe

If there are still freezes, I am probably going to have to hire a highly competent winforms developer to fix the issues once and for all. I might even check with Microsoft to see if they offer those kinds of services. Does anyone know if they do? We hired a local IT firm, but they were not able to isolate the issue either. Their best guess was on a part of the code that had not changes one bit since 2.86, and it was stable as a rock. Although, that was one of the 5-6 cross threading issues, so I fixed it as well. Thank you guys!

Okay, installed the latest version 3.43 on top of the previous one, so far all is good. Or is it better to do a clean install of this version?

I have a problem with VS that VoodooAi takes almost forever to process. It even processes task manager and it also blocks some of my apps without any notification in autopilot mode. Now the system is very very slow because of voodooshield since when I open any application, voodooAi intercepts and processes them before they can run

    @VoodooShield

I'm not sure if it's related to the freeze issue, but yesterday I was getting several incidences where VS would not respond and cpu usage would ramp up. If I right clicked on the VS shield, Windows would report the process was not responding and I had no choice but to end Voodooshield.exe from Process Explorer. This behavior is different to the usual freezes, where normally it's just the context menu that's unresponsive (the context menu appears, but cannot be interacted with) but the protection and notifications continue to remain active.

I rebooted my laptop but VS was still sluggish so I decided to reinstall VS with a clean configuration. I removed everything from "C:\ProgramData\VoodooShield" except for settings3.dat (I didn't want to have to reinput my settings or account details) and installed the latest beta. After doing this, VS returned to it's normal responsive self (Hooray!!!) with no untoward delays in scanning.

Looks like the snapshots/whitelists may need to cleared out once and a while to maintain stability. Although this problem probably wouldn't exist if we weren't having to install so many betas over each other

I just confirm that VS has a problem with avast internet security firewall although I allowed everything from VS in avast firewall config
It took ages to process files and sometimes, some files cannot be opened without anything showing up. After disabling avast components temporarily, VS works x100 faster, almost instantly like before with kaspersky IS
I just uninstalled avast avast firewall and other stuffs to make it avast free-like and now VS works perfectly.

Just to let you know that I did another full removal of VS and clean installed the latest Beta. I did not experience the same problem so it's all sorted. Thanks.

Seems i have a bug or something? i downloaded sys internal from chip(chip downloader). i try to run the chip downloader with voodooshield(autopilot mode) but nothing happens. it seems that voodooshield block the downloader without a popup. Is it a normal behavour?

Not seen anyone reporting a specific freeze issue since the latest versions were released. Dare we believe that this issue is solved?

same here. sometimes, I could not open regedit with autopilot on
I temporarily turned off avast shield and VS started to work normal: allow or block regedit.exe

is there any conflict between avast and voodooshield?
I confirmed avast firewall caused problems with VS Ai but this is a new problem

Hey everyone, I hope to catch up soon, but right now I am just completely worn out... that freeze bug really got the best of me ;).

Yeah, there are a couple of small issues that were created while fixing the freeze bug... like the regedit issue and sometimes VS's freeze icon will not hide correctly, so the shield stays white (that is already fixed I think). There is also a bug that is not allowing .tmp files to be allowed by parent process... that should be an easy fix.

If there are any other issues, please let me know. Otherwise, I think we are close, thank you for your help!!!

is there an advantage of using auto pilot over always on? and were the freezes due to using autopilot?

Unless I am reading it wrong, VS is suppose to block a file without auto quarantining when clicking the X in the video below, well it quarantined it :doubt:
    http://www86.zippyshare.com/v/qFybX0Pl/file.html

Another issue... when sandboxing a threat, VS freezes and I have no choice but to kill it and restart it.

    One more thing...
    What exactly does this mean?

After you tick "Watch Cuckoo Sandbox analysis..." and click on "Cuckoo", the file is uploaded and you can see the execution of your file (via remote desktop session in a Cuckoo Sandbox)
