Does anyone know of a software free/paid to batch edit metadata in video files? Something similar to mp3tag except for video files would be optimal. I mainly work with .mkv and .avi files. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
Just basic stuff for tv shows such as title, season #, episode #, year (release date), and maybe cover art. I mostly work with mkv and avi files.
Mediamonkey seemed to work but the tags aren't saved to the file they are just saved in the media player. Haven't found a reliable option yet. Thanks
FileBot is the ultimate tool for renaming your movies, tv shows or anime and downloading subtitles. It's smart, streamlined for simplicity and just works. FileBot supports Windows, Linux and Mac, plus there's a full-featured command-line interface for all sorts of automation. A simple user-interface tuned for drag-n-drop Rename hundreds of media files in a matter of seconds Match movies against TheMovieDB data Match episodes against TheTVDB data Match music against MusicBrainz data using AcoustID Download subtitles from OpenSubtitles Upload subtitles to OpenSubtitles Easily create and verify sfv, md5 and sha1 files http://sourceforge.net/projects/filebot/?source=directory http://www.filebot.net/
No that is only for music files. As i explained in the OP i need the same type of software just for video files, in partiular .mkv.
Not so much but I can try to help you. I used it occasionally in the past and even if is a very powerful tool, it was too much sometimes.
Do you know if its possible to change specific metadata within a file? The only thing im seeing is the automatic naming. Thanks
It should save to tags. It must be a setting. Check: Tools > Options > Library > Tags & Playlists > Update tags when editing properties.
I actually asked about this on their forums. They said that mkv files are read only in mediamonkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=82781
