Well as soon as a custom recovery is installed on the phone you can simply flash ROM (custom or stock, what ever you want) and by that it will remove the anti-theft. E.g. if you update from by flashing (which is the only way once you rooted your device) you always have to re-install avast anti-theft.

That is one way to use anti theft but then the google built in anti theft is more than enough ?

So what is a good av to try that is light and battery friendly? I do not want Clean Master or anything like that with all the added garbage. No need for Anti Theft either since Google takes care of that now days. Was thinking Bitdefender? Thanks all.

This is a matter of personal taste and what parts/pieces might interest you. You'll probably get 20 different answers from 20 different people. A week ago or so, I saw a post about the most popular Android AV's by what part of the world you live in. I found it quite interesting. I never realized how regional the popularity of AV's was?! For example, if I remember correctly, Lookout (my personal favorite) was the most popular in the US. However, nowhere else in the world was it even listed as at top 10 AV. For me, it's more about the "extras" than the AV portion because they're all pretty close in comparison in terms of the effectiveness of the AV portion.

@Trooper I believe I've never used it. It certainly sounds like a good product, but I am always a bit dubious of the detection rates of all the Android antiviruses which come from these unknown companies rather than ones the have a strong presence in the PC market.

Yeah I hear you man. I had never heard of this one. An Android buddy of mine told me about it. Not sure if I would run it but he claims its nice. At least its not made in China. :)

Avast lic. I don't like its applocker as it not always kicks in when I start protected app. CM applocker worked flawlessly.

    Thanks ! :)

Puh, you better try to google it. There have been many cases that were reported with CM products. Also in this thread some ppl wrote negative feedback about CM and privacy.
