@markloman: I used 7-Zip and extracted it, but opened from Windows Explorer. Seems to be an infrequent bug in my case. Will examine once it appears again.

    Hello,

I just wanted to say that the latest build of HMP.A is running great here on two machines.
There is one small annoyance that I posted about back on July 26 of last year:
    erikloman replied with the following:
I have since asked about the status of this two more times but with no replies:

Is it going to be implemented so HMP.A observes the scan settings that I have set in HMP? I realize that this is not a serious or critical bug, but it is an annoyance to not be able start a HMP scan via the HMP.A tray icon as it will not observe my preferred scan settings within HMP. I must always start HMP through the start menu of Windows instead. I hope that this can still be implemented as I have been waiting since HMP.A CTP 2 for this feature...

I'm thinking uninstall re-install to bring back Firefox encrypting. Will my license survive. Are multiple installs allowed. Is the license mapped to machine or ? Any advice for a clean install ? I have hmpalert-uninstall x64 saved but, never used. Do I need/run uninstaller ? before / after / with CP uninstall ?
Anyone think I should wait for new build .....Firefox no-encrypting is only issue afaik. Exploit Tests okay.

Uninstall through Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features, Uninstall HitmanPro.Alert,
    after that, reboot,
    re-install HitmanPro.Alert, and reboot.
    Your licence will survive.

I can't tell you about that.
It was asked before, but I don't remember any suggestions.

If you mean the uninstaller meant for HMPA2, I don't know if it is any good for HMPA3.

I think there's a number of issues still waiting for fixes.
I suppose SurfRight is working on those and I hope the next build or builds will fix the pending issues.

Nevertheless, in the mean time, there's nothing wrong with uninstall and re-install to see if that makes any difference.

I read comments that uninstaller was noted for A.2
I thought the reply was that it'll work for A.3 also.... not sure....
Okay, CP uninstall > reboot .... Thanks! SM

Update: re-install still no Firefox encrypting. CP uninstall > reboot is apparently not a clean install as everything survived other than 'Notifications'
So, to see if a re-fresh install will help. Maybe I need a clean install. And a clean install may mess the license. IDK if uninstall v2 works for v3....IDK re manual cleanup for clean install.

    What worked for me is:
    1. run from a autorized command promt: hmpalert.exe /uninstall
    2. reboot
    3. re-install hmpalert build 187, immediately followed by a 'Reset settings' (in General settings). (What is still remembered is the license info)
    4. reboot
    5. check Notifications, Exploit mitigations applications and adjust were necessary.

PS: I have tested hmpalert-uninstall x64 from alert2 and that worked for me too with alert3!

Does the hmpalert-unistall x64 v2 mess with license....how is it used. Alone or after cmd / CP uninstall as a cleanup Tool.
Am I ripping out running processes by just hmpalert-uninstall x64. Following like other programs. CP uninstall is gentler than just removal Tool. I'm imagining hmpalert-unistall x64 v2 as a removal Tool. IDK

Okay, I did not Reset and Reboot
Update: I added Reset n' Reboot. No joy.

    1. I have a paid license and hmpalert-unistall x64 from alert2 did not mess with it. I just executed hmpalert-uninstall x64.exe
    2. I had no applications running at the time of execution of hmpalert-unistall x64.exe
    3. My preference is the authorized command prompt: hpmalert.exe /uninstall (hmpalert.exe is the downloaded build 187 installation program)

So, 'hpmalert.exe /uninstall' is not the same as CP uninstall ?
by ripping running I meant Alert processes....naturally I'll quiet machine before...

question is ~ what does hmpalert-unistall x64 v2 do vs cmd uninstall vs CP uninstall
and what ever is wrong with Firefox encrypting...can I sort with cleaner install. And how do I get a cleaner install.

E.Loman advised, in a previous forum post, to use 'hpmalert.exe /uninstall'. That is why I used it several times without causing problems for Alert processes.

I cannot tell. I just used it for test purposes and out of curiosity and it worked.

No keystroke encryption issues on my laptop W7-x64 US Professional with IE32, IE64 and FF 37.0.2. using MSEssentials, Spybot S&D 2.4, hp241, hmpalert187.

On my desktop W7-x64 Home Premium US, I only have flyout and encryption issues with IE32.
    IE64 and FF38.0.5 (beta) are working fine! Using MSEssentials, Spybot S&D 2.4, hp240, hmpalert187.

UPDATE after re-testing on my desktop: IE32 shows NO encryption flyout but encryption is now actually done,
(validated with the hmpalert testtool) so some erratic/random results.

Aha, so no sense in me playing with re-install. You're versed in 'install' and still have encrypting issue.
    I'm seeing no-encrypting on Firefox 37.0.2....W8.1 + Norton v22
    Thanks ...!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend HMP.A anymore, at least for average users. It just borked a system when I tried to go in advanced startup & recovery mode.

If I do a clean install or swap out my current SSD for an updated version, will my 1 PC 3 year subscription carry over, or will I need to contact support to prove I am not trying to move my license to another PC

Basically, even after disabling exploit mitigations, it disabled the system when I tried to go into advanced startup in PC Settings. Something about caller, and I can't access the GUI on startup w/o HMP.A blocking something.

Therefore I need to enter into safe mode, which isn't possible without the rescue disc. Barely got into command line startup, but not sure how to manually remove it. hmpalert.exe /uninstall doesn't work.

*Manually delete HMP* from program file (x86) and system32 and now finally gets past login screen.

Currently, the license is tied to the Windows installation.
    The license allows one reinstall.
If you need to reinstall once more, then you need to contact SurfRight support, or PM erikloman at Wilders.
However, SurfRight is planning to change the licensing mechanism in the near future so that reinstalling Windows is not an issue for the license.

Actually you can also use a one-pc licence at the same time on two pc's, although I suppose that just accounts for one installation + one reinstall.

Thanks for the link. I figured it wouldn't be much of a problem to directly contact, as I do fresh installs occasionally. Erik and company seem like class acts so I'm comfortable with the process. Thanks again
