Does this poll cover on-demand scanners? Let's say someone is using MBAM Free only, does he vote for MBAM Pro, Other, or None?
Symantec (endpoint solutions for corporation) should be separated from Norton (for home users) even if they share the same signature database they are different products. Just my opinion.
I voted none. I prefer to rely on a combination of light virtualization and policy restriction, and just use scanners on-demand.
Since there are none on-demand AV only vendor listed, I guess this poll is covering real-time AVs only.
That's what I wanted to ask for inputs. Should on-demand scanners and online analysis services be included into consideration? As for the current poll, it's only for real-time AVs. If your AV is only on-demand and has no real-time protection capability, please select "None". The "Other" option is for the less well known AVs, AV clones and the likes which are not listed in the poll option but still comparable to other AVs listed above. But they are made by the same company, aren't they? I see no point in separating them to be honest.
Avira: Excellent detection, very light system impact, great value one license for all home computers, and last but not least free version with APC...
None as always for both realtime and ondemand. I decide, if I want to get infected or not. Hope not, I just love polls, I could spend the whole day just voting.
I voted BitDefender (IS) & Emsisoft. Was happy for 2yrs with EAM paid & OA free. But it's strictly a price move on my part. I paid ~$14 for 2yrs of EAM (boxed copies fleabay). Cheapest I found EAM now is $22 for 1yr (boxed copy fleabay). So I'm on the free 9mo trial of BIS which after 2wks I like. Too bad my extra BIS trial serials exp on 08/17/2014 if not installed. Scored a NIB 3pc 2yr BIS for $3 (where else) so in 8 1/2mo I'll use that probably.
No real time AV since Dec 2010, no on demand antimalware since Dec 2011. If I was to use an AV, I would probably go with Windows defender. Bo
