Hmmm......I've noticed you got MBAM installed.
Then I recall some incompatibilty issues were occuring.

    Has this issue been solved?

I guess it's officially out. My desktop just updated to version 9. I really like to old interface and colors because it always reminded me of A-Square. But the new look is starting to grow on me.

OMG I can't stand the new interface. And the taskbar icon is putrid, compared to old majestic icon. Yeah I remember Asquared too.

You will get used to it.
Like many of us already have.
In fact, I like it more than the old one.

I like it but I wish it was the same size as the old one, it's tiny

Yes, the size should be decreased to fit lower resolution screens.

Can we install the final version over the beta or uninstall the beta first?

No need to do anything. Just disable beta updates and you are good to go :).

I switched back into the snapshot, earlier today, that still had v8.1.0.40, and the update started. When it was finished, it rebooted automatically.

After, the reboot the modified EAM required permission by the FW, which I allowed.

    So, successfully completed the update.

However, I notice these faint bars moving from right to left, as shown. What is their significance?

A lot of people asked us to add some kind of activity indicator. When you build a software that is light and tries not to bother the user, you will end up with users questioning whether or not it is doing anything at all. Some vendors display the last scanned file, others just have some increasing numbers indicating how many files have been scanned or how many behaviors have been observed. In general the last scanned file doesn't have much value in our opinion and numbers are way to abstract to figure out what they represent at a quick glance. That is why we decided to put a small activity graph into the header of the application. So essentially those moving bars represent events processed by our product as well as files scanned. It's our way of letting you know that we are actually doing stuff and you can quickly see at which point the application was particularly busy which actually comes in quite handy when you try to figure out what is causing EAM or EIS to consume an excessive amount of resources ;).

We just released a new beta build today. Version number is 9.0.0.4141 for both Emsisoft Anti-Malware as well as Emsisoft Internet Security. If you have beta updates enabled under "Settings"/"Updates" the new version will be installed automatically.

Changes in version 9.0.0.4141 compared to the previous version:

    • Internal code cleanup and optimizations.
    • Fixed a problem with file extensions dialog.
    • Fixed incorrectly labeled Behavior Blocker and Emsisoft Anti-Malware Network detections.
    • Fixed repeated File Guard alerts.
    • Fixed a few potential crash bugs.
    • Fixed some minor GUI inconsistencies.
    • Improved high DPI support.
    • Improved the way EIS stops the Windows firewall.
    • EIS now properly creates rules for the SYSTEM process internally.

This question has been asked over and over again. The answer is still the same: When it's done.

Was running good (EAM), but I unchecked the beta updates and on the next automatic update it reverted back to the release version 4103. Any way of keeping the latest beta and not having the beta updates always checked?

Nope. As soon as you uncheck beta you will always switch back to stable updates.

Okay thanks. Yes I guess that is good if beta is having problems on a computer.
