Now that the Prevx forums (used for WSA support questions for a long time) have been declared 'Read Only', my one question is:

Will the AV forum and/or Updates forum here a Wilders still be posted to by Webroot support when newer versions of WSA are released? Yes, I know about the Webroot Community forum(s) and have been going there frequently, but let's face it, the Community forums look pretty darn lame compared to what we are used to here at/on Wilders.

I agree with you. Webroots official community forum is a mess. Very "noisy" and "bling bling". It's hard to get a grip of what's really posted. Too many pictures everywhere and too long signatures for every member.

I turned the ability to see signatures off over there, and I do that here too. I'm more interested in what people have to say than viewing the products/quotes/machine specifications they add as their username signature.

Thank you for the tip. I did not know you could do that! It looks a lot better now.

I will keep Wilders updated on WSA updates and betas also! ATM the release is v8.0.4.70 and the Beta is at v8.0.4.73

Well all I can say is that's the way they want to run the Webroot Community but it is a great place for info and allot of Webroot staff are always there I'm not saying you have to like it but that's how it's been from the beginning and the way they like to run it.

I don't remember his name, but didn't the community manager say here on Wilders that they would do some changes to make the forum more userfriendly, easier to use etc... are they done with that?

Not a thing has happened yet. And yeah, I do recall Webroot's community manager saying they'd make some changes!

A big thank you to TH for verifying that, indeed, Webroot support staff will update a Wilder's forum to let us know when a newer WSA update is available. I was sure glad to see that this would happen, and while I do not currently 'like the Community Forums', I DO understand the Webroot support model.

I will ping Nic the Community Manager to come and reply to this thread to let you know what's going on!

    Cheers,

    Daniel ;)

Still working through some of the changes, so nothing big has changed yet. As TonyW mentioned you can customize the appearance to minimize some of the extraneous information. I'll update you guys when we have done some of the design changes.

    Thanks.

    Great news!

    Hope you can:
    1. as suggested by someone else here, merge the sections for AV, ISP and Complete into one (as s/he pointed out, a question relevant to one of these products is more often than not relevant to all three of them), and create separate sections for the supplementary modules such as Password Manager and Backup & Sync.
    2. ringfence all the Tech News and Security News sections into a dedicated and separate group so that, when choosing All Topics, you can either choose All Topics related to Webroot products (suggestion: this to be default choice), or All Topics related to Tech and Security News: thus avoiding the Security and Tech News topics completely drowning out the WSA Product topics.
    3. sort the All Topics window, as with this Forum, by date of which topics have had the most recent input rather than by date of when the topic was first opened: thus allowing us, at a glance, to see which topics have been most recently contributed to.
This, imho, would already go a long way to improving user-friendliness of the forum. For me at least...

    Hope that helps :)

A lot of your points are in line with what we're planning Muddy3. Just have to work through the technical and political aspects of getting those implemented :)

Perhaps this thread can be renamed to Webroot SecureAnywhere 8.x thread?

    Great news! ;)

Granted (and btw I put this link in my favourites and now sometimes use it—thank you for the tip!), but as you confirmed at the time this page is incomplete. It unfortunately does not include business version threads. I have found several threads from the business side to be of interest and relevance to me as a consumer customer.

Also, I think the layout of this page could be improved. It would be nice to be able to see with each thread who contributed the most recent post and when they did so—as is so with the All Topics page.

It's true that you go on to mention this link:
but (if I understand correctly) this will show a separate entry for each post so if there have been, for example, 10 posts on a thread since last time I visited, it will have 10 entries instead of just one for that thread. Too noisy for me! I just need the one entry to tell me that the thread has been updated since last time I visited.

I think it's best when there is a new update it should go in the Updates Section and if need be a discussion by starting a new thread or we can have one thread like Webroot SecureAnywhere Thread? Because most of the support will come from the Webroot Community and the Support Ticket system.

Yes Nic would have to look into it to see if it can be done with the Lithium board software? But since you visit here and the Community I can always ping Nic from the Community.

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)

Yes, that's what I meant, but since we're already discussing it here, we might as well rename this instead of starting another thread.
