For those of you using the 5.0 beta (I think it is) Is there anything different/added in the beta over 4.9? maybe a changelog?

My bad, I thought your post was in response to my comment. I just re-read it and saw that it wasn't. Need new eyes.

It would be most likely that you can't opt out of installing them. However, hopefully 360 Internet Security will still be available for people like you who don't need the extras.

Unless there is the real full support in English as we're used from other big players worldwide, regardless on their country of origin, Chinese applications won't spread among non-Chinese users in a significant scale. Our Czech/Slovak security companies (AVG, ESET, Avast) are all on par with Norton, Webroot etc. as regards the support.

It all depends of whether you actually need support. I usually never contact support for any software that I use, except for very rare exceptions. If a free antivirus is giving me problems I switch to another free product.

Well so far I love this Av. It is far more light on my system then avast9 or cis7. How good is this Av against Ransomware?

Ransomware is just another type of Malware. And I believe that's not fair to answer such questions ('is it Good or Bad'). But I can refer you to the latest test results provided by AV-TEST :

I don't get it why is it so hard to add user input dialog for encryption if some unknown app wants to access crypto API within Windows. With this alone we could kill all the ransomware that is using integrated Windows crypto API. And those that come with their own crypto would be easier to detect and block.

Does anybody know if the Secure Browsing supports Chromium/Blink browsers? I mean especially whether Opera 20 is supported because even if it uses Chromium not all security solutions supporting Chromium browsers work in Opera. For instance Norton's Secure Web doesn't work in Opera but on the other hand Webroot's Secure Web does work in it.

I have encountered a strange problem with 360 IS post Update 1 installation in Windows 8.1 x64.

After applying Update 1, 360 IS was hanging my computer. Nothing was launching, and the system was fully unresponsive. As soon as I uninstalled it, everything is back to normal again. Anyone having this issue?

For now, I'll have to rely on just CF.

Same problem encountered here yesterday, total PC lock up. I had a hell of a time with it, trying to run 360 IS uninstaller repeatedly failed.
Finally, I had no other option, but to run a windows system restore point (4/6/14) from three days prior to install of latest Windows 8.1 x64 .

There is some sort of incompatibility issue between 360 and Update 1 right now. Hope they fix it, asap! Right now, I am only with CF.

I also think there is an incompatibility issue and I have decided not to try to reinstall 360 IS . For now, I am using Windows 8 Defender, Hitman Pro & Malware bytes ..... I also hope that this may be resolved soon .

I had the same problem. Wasn't a problem with Windows 7, but when I upgraded the laptop (2 of them, both had this problem) to Win 8.1 with Update 1 I had prolongued hanging of the laptop after start up. Ultimately had to uninstall 360 Internet Security.

I hope it's already reported to them or else it's going to take some time to get it fixed with the limited support they have for English users.
