zap what to do?

    does anyone else get cnfused with zone alarm pro? do i upgrade or clean install? if i clean install how do i shutdown the Truevector service? and does that put me at risk?

    ZA will shutdown TVector when it installs over it self. On a clean install it just removes your settings and you start fresh. On the upgrade you keep all your settings you have now. I disconnect from the internet when doing an install.

    If you are moving up to 6.x, do a clean install and have the program relearn everything. It's a hassle but it is recommended by Zonelabs on the present version.

    1. uncheck the 'load on startup' option in ZA
    2. disconnect from the internet
    3. restart the PC
    4.Go to the "uninstall Zonelabs security' shortcut and select properties
    5. add a '/clean' (without quotes: space slash clean) at the end of the target
    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean
    6. Now use the uninstall shortcut
    7. Restart the PC
    8. Install ZAP 6.x as a clean install
    9. Reconnect to the Internet
    10. Restart the PC
