    Quite expensive ($36.95, typically $49.95) for a not very impressive software.
    I don't even want to know if it is safe or not.

    It's safe but why using such programs? You can fix your windows with system file checker. All you have to do is putting your windows cd-rom then go to start,run,at the run dialog box type cmd press enter and then sfc /scannow and press enter.
