WSA Update: v8.0.1.131

    I uninstalled Shadow Defender first and the problem still occurred. I next uninstalled AppGuard and the problem appears to have stopped. I then reinstalled Shadow Defender without AppGuard and still no repeat of the problem so far, despite rebooting the system several times over the last couple of days in order to check.

    It appears that there may be a conflict between WRSA and AppGuard that sometimes causes a system hang when shutting down or restarting Windows XP. As the problem is intermittent, and doesn't always occur, I can't be completely sure yet for a few more days, but the early indications are pointing in this direction.

    The problem never reoccurred after AppGuard was uninstalled so I tried reinstalling AppGuard in order to check my findings and the system did again sometimes hang on shutdown or restart. I then uninstalled AppGuard for a second time and the problem ceased again.

    It does look as though there is some kind of conflict between AppGuard and WSA on my Windows XP SP3 system that sometimes causes the system to hang on shutdown or restart, but the problem is an intermittent one that cannot be consistently reproduced so it's not easy to find the cause.

    v8.0.1.131?

    I have the 8.0.1.82 beta installed (not closed beta), so i'm wondering whether i have an issue or this is the latest build for the standard beta builds?

    Can you Right Click on the Tray Icon and click Check for Updates? And if that doesn't work can you PM me your download link?

    Ah ok, thanks Triple, indeed it has not updated on it's own or manual. i'll just do it with the installer from the link and it worked.

    I imagine it would update auto if i used the code i bought for WSA, but i'm a bit cheap and will wait an extra month or two until activating that one because the beta's are very smooth IMO! ;)

    I have sent a PM to PrevxHelp about this issue because I'm not sure about the Beta Group compared to the Closed Beta Group in getting updated versions! But I'm glad you have .95 for the moment! ;)

    Alright, probably just temp quirk with my WSA install. There was never any indication anything was amiss and also works just fine after the .95 upgrade with the installer, the beta label is gone after that though. :)
