I have Linspire Linux system on a separate internal HDD and operate a dual boot system with windows on my main drive.
When I attempt to copy my main drive as a full backup to my external HDD it reports an error halfway through and hangs.
Can TI be used with my setup, and how do I do it?
    Thanks
    John

    Hello crash79`,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Acronis True Image can be used to create images even of an unsupported file system (sector-by-sector copying would be performed in this case). Could you please clarify how have you performed the backup operation(i.e. running Acronis True Image under Windows or while booted from a Bootable media)? Please also tell us what error message do you receive and what version of Acronis True Image (version, build) do you use?

Could you please download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to us? This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please send gathered information to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

Thanks for your reply but I have decided to give up the idea of running linux as a dual boot. Linspire takes over and alters the MBR on the main drive.
    Sorry for troubling you.
