You can disable the shields under PC Security but we'd prefer to fix the false positives. Could you write into our support inbox to have them take a look?

    Thanks!

I am sorry to let you know that two updates (out of the eight updates mentioned by Triple Helix) failed to install on my Win 7 x64. I had to shut down WSA in order to get these two updates to install properly. One of these two updates was the security update for Silverlight.

Win 7 x64 SP1, WSA v.8.0.0.48, KAV 2012, Comodo Firewall, MBAM (on demand)

Could you also write into our support inbox? It's possible that there is a signature blocking your updates but the research team should be able to help you more accurately there.

    Thank you!

FWIW I still say it's nothing to do with WSA it seems that most problems come from running to many other security software as Pierrequiroule problem could be from KAV and or Comodo not necessary WSA?

Apart from Comodo Firewall, I only had WSA installed when I experienced the Windows XP updates issues reported in this thread on my system, so the other security software theory doesn't hold water in my case. In any event, it was WSA that made the false positive detections, not Comodo. One of the selling points of WSA is that it is supposed to be compatible with other security applications.

That's an XP issue Pierrequiroule has "Win 7 x64 SP1, WSA v.8.0.0.48, KAV 2012, Comodo Firewall, MBAM (on demand)" and I did say it's FWIW and didn't say definitely!

    @ PrevxHelp:

I went to the Webroot Support page and wrote a detailed message... only to find out later that there was no trace left of my message! So, I am using this thread to let you know that I used your log gathering utility right after I could reproduce the incident with Windows Update. As I did mention before, two out of the eight updates could not be installed. One is an update for MS Silverlight - KB2617986, and the other is an update for Microsoft .NET Framework version 4 - KB2572078. I will write you a PM to give you more details about the logs.

    Regards

I was posting for myself, nobody else. I was simply remarking that the other security software explanation isn't true for me. If you'd read my post properly - I did say "in my case" - you'd have realised that!

I think there is an issue at the moment with Hotmail addresses being blocked. I'll be circling back with our support/research team there to hopefully get this sorted for you.

    Thank you for the help!
