Informative and overall good, but for some reason I felt that Kaspersky was genuinely worried about Microsoft becoming a market leader and was doing some damage control on why you shouldn't get Microsoft products.

I think all AV vendors should be worried about Microsoft and the "clout" they have,if they want to become market leader they will become market leader!:-may not be the best product, but has ever the best AV been the market leader??

Well it depends on how someone defines "best". :)

But if you are talking purely in terms of detection rate, then I'd say that has not happened in about 10 or so years.

How about the part that virus writers would create malware designed primarily to evade detection by OneCare. Don't you think we are a long way from OneCare becoming that popular and would not that seem odd to have viral code specifically to attack OneCare detection.

Am I missing something... a virus signature desgined to out fox one AV product. o_O o_O

Yeah, Kaspersky is trying to rely on the "reputation" of the monthly Windows patches to allude that the same will happen with OneCare. I call it desperation. ;)
