When I've got all my security packages active, I can't access Windows Update. I get:

Question: Why can't I add a "trusted site" which isn't HTTPS? Am I missing something here?

Hi Checkout! I cannot answer your question directly but I have some experience with Windows Updates. I disabled it because my system is so fussy about new stuff. I also wanted to check the update before it got carved in stone. Can't uninstall. So, I download my updates manually and install them myself. I have also gotten rid of most of the ActiveX on this system, and wherever possible I avoid it. Your Security apps would knock out most ActiveX programs. You obviously have excellent security! (Sorry, I couldn't answer your question.) :)

    Checkout,

To be able to add trusted sites that are NOT https, remove the check mark at 'server verification'

See screen shot (excuse my Dutch ! :D)
