I'm running windows 2000 and Automatic updates doesn't seem to be working.

I've got it enabled in the control panel to notify me of available updates, and using Administrative Tools I can see the Automatic Updates service is enabled. But when I manually access Windows Update using Internet Explorer I can see 2 critical updates waiting to be installed, that I haven't been notified about.

Is there a way to reinstall Automatic updates, or to fix it?

    Thanks.

Is your firewall blocking updates by any chance?

Thank you so much :) I was a little too enthusiastic with my firewall blocking and had blocked outgoing Generic Host Process. It's all working now.
