Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.25L

Help!
Windows Updater keeps failing at installing the Windows UPdate Agent. Went to Windows Microsoft site, looked for Service pack 1 on my computer as suggested , only found : Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB948465) INSTALLED 1/10/10.
There have been no auto updates since June, kinda concerned because I am a Realtor and my life is on this (frustrating Vista installed) HP laptop. I have never written in a forum before so hoping I can get help here w/o having to call and pay for HP technical support?

 

This should fix your update issue by follow these steps,then try to update again. 1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
2. In the Command Prompt window you will need to type the following, and press ENTER:
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

You can copy and paste the above commands or type it in exactly that way.
