Hello all. For AV NOD32 4.2, I was wondering if i enter %windir%\sampledir as an exclusion, will NOD32 know that %windir% is c:\windows or whatever the environment variable for %windir%?

In other words, can I enter windows enviro variables in the exclusion list?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Unfortunately you cannot user environmental variables, it has to be an absolute path.

another question regarding exclusions. if i want to exclude just the MDF extension, would i enter *.mdf in the exclusions section or c:\*.mdf?

or do i have to go to another section for this?

    thanks again.

    No,

Specify which part of ESET you dont want scanning the extention (Real time file system protection, Document Protection, Email client protection, Web access protection, On demand computer scan) and go to the ThreatSense engine parameter setup. go to extentions, uncheck scan all files and make sure your extention is not in that list, and hit ok.

    Regards,

    Jesus
