    Hi folks,

I have been wondering why, since I have neither Outlook nor MS Office installed that both EMON and DMON were installed on my system? I chose typical install as advised by the instructions that came with the CD and by the installer. I have disabled these modules and run only AMON, NOD32 and IMON. Is this the same as not having the modules installed, or would it be better performance-wise for them to not be installed at all?

I figured the installer would detect that I didn't have these products installed, but apparently not? I installed NOD32 and registered on Sept. 9, 05 and it seems to work fine. Between the two running processes, NOD32KRN.exe and NOD32KUI.exe, it consumes about 8.5MB of memory most of the time.

I run a tweaked OEM Windows ME installation on a Presario 5005R, 1.1GHz Athlon, 512MB pc133 SDRAM, 40GB hard drive partitioned into C (plenty of free space) and D, C is OS, programs etc. and D, I believe, is a recovery partition.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Okay, thanks Triple Helix.

I still wonder why these modules were installed though. Maybe WinME has things built into it that can use MAPI? I do have MS Works installed, also an older version of 602 PC Suite, so maybe that has something to do with DMON?

I have also wondered about excluding BOClean from NOD32's scanning and vice versa, whether it might be desirable to do so or not? So far they seem to be getting along just fine, but notice there have been discussions about the two of them in these forums in the past.

    Thanks again.

u chose teh typical installation and most likely they were installed regardless of whether or not you have office and outlook.

I'm running both Nod32 2.50.25 and BOClean and they do not need to be mutually excluded as they are running fine together.
