I deal with IT sales every day of the week. Every sales department or representative wants to call their pet product the latest and greatest. Like most people I tend to take sales people with a grain of salt. Prevxhelp is seemingly more interested in slamming the competition then they are discussing the technical details of their own product. If I want to hear a sales promotion I will go to a website or call a sales department and listen to a script read from a script card. I have lurked on Wilders for years sans an account.

Get real PrevxHelp. I went inflamatory to get you to talk about the technical merits of your product. This means that I am interested.

And you probably never stopped to think how the sales people tend to take you.
    Seriously, the attitude isn't necessary.

And the other thing to note is PrevxHelp is NOT a sales person. As for technical information about this product, there is enough detail on their website and in various threads in this forum to satisfy that level of curiosity.

When have I ever slammed the competition? There is a great deal of literature about Prevx online, including numerous awards/recognition by 3rd party companies. I'm not sure what else you're expecting from me but you can find detailed information on several pages of our website, a few being:

    http://www.prevx.com/freescan.asp#technical
    http://www.prevx.com/safeonline.asp#overview
    http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?GRAB=IMMUNITY

You can't compare Prevx as a whole to Hitman Pro as they serve very different purposes and are used for completely different reasons.

Pcdoctor, why should prevxhelp waste his time trying to win you over when you could spend five minutes reading about the product, download the product and try it, or watch some videos on YouTube reviewing the product.

But that would require the slightest amount of effort?

Actually to be conservative what it would require would be a test machine or virtualization, etc. Neither of which ... People have reasons for what they do and say.

Prevx/webroot won't damage your system even if you uninstall. Keep in mind the installer is the smallest size of any AV package. Around 1MB when I last checked.

It won't mess up your firewall settings or deactivate it, it can be run with any other security program. If you run into any problems, prevxhelp is on-hand to assist. Can't ask for a better deal.

If you're testing a piece of malware or installing a larger package that are around the 100MB mark, for sure, run in a VM. Or software such as ThreatFire which was being updated, but isn't being updated now, yes it can cause conflicts.

But as you can see by the amount of threads on prevx, many of us have tested it, uninstalled, re-installed, without any problems at all. Quickest install and uninstall of any program I've tested, and I've tested probably over 50 AV type programs, or more.

If you're the type of person who only believes what your own eyes see, then this forum might prove of little benefit to you, because we value others' opinions and advice all the time.

This is the first I've seen of this offer.

Does the full version of Prevx get a long with Hips in Private Firewall?

Right now I have SOL installed with it.

Saraceno, to assume I do not value others opinions is rubbish. Wilders is one of the best and defacto forums on the net. I have nothing but the utmost respect for what Wilders has accomplished. I have been lurking here for a long long time. When it comes to security based software that has to integrate deep in order to protect a system I am cautious and skeptical. Have you ever had a failed A/V uninstall and had to call the vendor to get it out? I have. Your saying, hey take my word for it, Prevx is safe. Sorry, been around to long. Virtualization and test beds are around for a reason. I have no experience with Prevx. Never even considered their sofware as an option. Through the twenty some odd years I have been in the profession I have a zero fu rate. That is accomplished by exhaustive testing. When I am solicited for a white paper it is cogent, concise and on the money. I wrote what I wrote to Prevx help because I am not in the position to test there software right now like I would prefer and was hoping for slightly more then a response that a vendor would give to a noob without having to make a call and push it into excallation past level 1.

If you been a Lurker for so long and now you just joined to attack PrevxHelp and 4 of your 5 posts are directed to this thread and makes you look like a Troll and nothing more IMO! o_O If you got a Question ask it if not go back to Lurking as that would be best!

No problem, as you know with the internet it's easy to be misunderstood. Going by your post count, it seemed to me you were demanding answers from prevxhelp. Reason I took it kind of personally as Joe is a developer who spends too much of his free time helping others. Some of his replies on here, if you printed them off you'd have a phone book in size of material.

I know Joe is more than capable speaking for himself, I just think his effort on this forum and triplehelix aren't appreciated at times.

From my personal experience with the product, awhile ago on another forum one member had a bad infection she couldn't remove with several AV programs, so I recommended prevx. I didn't know this person but thought prevx could help. Scan from prevx identified a couple of files and I recommended she send the scan log to Joe. Within five minutes of Joe reviewing the scan log, he replies with 'i've found the suspect file and added it to our detection list'. Emails person from forum, while copying me in the email, she runs another scan and prevx removes the malware file.

What this proved to me, was how efficient prevx was with its scan logs in locating problem files and how quickly files can be added to its cloud servers for customer removal. In summary, happy customer in under 10 minutes. And to me, reinforced excellent program and support.

Triple Helix, no attack intended or even implied. My thrust in joining is in conjunction with another problem I am having. Not quite ready to post on that issue. Perhaps now that the gyst of what I had wanted is reasonably clear PrevX may go into further detail next week. If not, no biggie ... I have found some of what I was after elsewhere.

Sorry if I put you off ...

I use Prevx Free & just downloaded Hitman Pro (free) & sent them both into my partition with nasties stored inside to compare their sniffability. Prevx found 9 Hitman found 6.

Maybe. I haven't got a record of 'em any more. Its sort of like the closet under the stairs nowadays. This weekend, God willing, I'll download the free AVs like Avast & Avira & AVG and send them in too.
