which patched Proxomitron Interface do you like best?

    Yes, your presumption is correct ;) - see my postings #9 and #23. My first posting wasn't detailed enough.

    I agree. I had simply assumed that the starter of this thread was using Firefox as default browser in Linux as is normally the case.

    By the way: Is there a special reason why you wrote "notably GreaseMonkey"? All relevant FF extensions I'm aware of can filter https traffic.

    Greasemonkey comes closest to matching Proxomitron in functionality, able to rewrite webpage HTML and customise individual sites.

    I like Proxo very much, but there's the Fermat rule of laziness:
    The user will take the shortest to achieving results.

    Using Proxo requires skill.
    Using Firefox + Noscript / Adblock / Cookie blocker / RefControl / UserAgentSwitcher requires far less skill.

    That's all there is to it. Laziness. You can use both, but it's simpler with the extensions...
