Win 7 x32. Latest version available of KMPlayer. Freezes permanently when I pass from full screen to normal window while I play a movie. I've never seen this behaviour on XP or Vista on which I find KMPlayer excellent.

Since the poll is Windows-centric, I have one XP box in the basement which serves as a video server for the house. TV output on UHF channel 18 to the house and files served up on the LAN. We run MediaPortal on that box http://www.team-mediaportal.com/.

On our other machines, we run Gnome's "Movie Player" which handles all formats on our KNOS OS.

Winamp for audio files and online radio, it has the best online radio stations from several sources and an excellent media library.
JetAudio for video files, it plays most formats without needing codecs and it is very easy to adjust your screen ratios.
JetAudio has clearer pictures for older video files and has many video options not included in like VLC, Media Player Classic, etc.

On some occasions, I still use VLC for some rare formats not supported by JetAudio.

    Thanks.:D

I would like to use WMP, but a problem stops me. Anyone know how to solve it?

Basically, if I have an album called Mozart Violin Sonatas which has say 100 tracks, and some tracks have artist A and some have artist B, then WMP will list the album twice in album view. So if an opera recording is tracked with the soloist currently singing on each track, then I will get 20 entries for that one opera in album view and I have to manually drag the tracks into one album group. This is tiresome when you are dealing with long albums or lots of operas. Anyone got any ideas? Winamp seems to work fine without this problem.

I used all of them ... Without doubt I choose KMPlayer and PotPlayer

PotPlayer developed by the original KM Player's developer
(It seems He's no longer working on KM and only work on PotPlayer,
so PotPlayer should be thought of as the new KM Player.)

Mpc-Hc for video files without a single codec on my system and AIMP for audio, mostly because i can change the UI to any colour i want and make it fit with my wallpaper. I think Foobar though has the best audio quality

I just wish we could change our choices. Now I have VLC, which also works with all of my videos, but without modifying the system and potentially causing errors.

I use WMP if I am in a hurry for video and audio.

If I really want to watch a movie, I use VLC.

If I really want to listen to audio, I use CoolPlayer.

I like minimal and standalone. I have not tried many of those mentioned because I am content with what I have been using, and don't use them that much to begin with.

    Sul.
