    Grumble,
Thanks for the reply. I guess it don't get better unless you can find an 8th scanner. :D :D

I understand the desire to try different AVs and other programs. However, I see that some use so many I wonder if that does not contribute to problems?

NOD32 or avast! - only have one enable on-access, with preference for NOD32 - both on-demand

    AntiVir - only on-demand

    NOD on one machine.
F-Secure on two machines because it is provided free by my ISP.
One of the free AV on a fourth machine. I change this one every so often.

    Over all I prefer NOD.

    Yeah, what about this?
I'm running AVG since last week, and it discovered a trojan...no removal, no quaruantain, no advice, no further action whatsoever...
What kind of an anti-virus program is that? (Sure; I'll run my AT scanner too, but: )
If I call for the police, I don't want to get confronted with some kind of neigbourhood-watch telling me the stuff I just reported myself, do I?! And then say they don't have the power or competence to do something about the problem?!
    I want action!
Am I missing something here? Did I oversee options?
    Please clarify...
    :doubt: :(

    Kinda off topic, Firecat?

Panda is fine product... slow startup and false postives (particularly in the ad/spyware detections), put me off.

For bigc, im just curious if you had to choose one AV that you have tested to keep on your system perminantly which would you choose. And what would be the reason why you chose it. Like i say im just curious.

    Thanks

I forgot that I have Dr.Web running on "the family" machine. I forget about it sometimes, since I never use it.

I replaced my McAfee VirusScan Enterprise v8.0i and Kaspersky Anti-Hacker v1.7[/] with F-Secure Client Security v5.55-SR1 today :) The anti-virus is very good, and the firewall works very nice too... Can anybody give me their opinion about it?

I use Avast Home v4.6 on my old W2K box ;)

Apart from resource usage (slightly high), F-Secure is an excellent solution for Internet Security.

I agree on the recource usage, but it's greatly improved... And, this buisness edition seems work smoother then the "normal" home edition :p
