Been reading posts on these forums for years, finally got around to making an account. Tacoma, Washington here
as we are on an island off the coast of europe (along with scotland and wales) i voted the 'islands' option. we have been conquered by europe and live under their thumb. hopefully not for long.
Guys, I don't want to be the bad guy, but please no politics; OK? (nobody wants this more ten years old thread closed, started by dear old Cochise who is missed so dearly by so many)
Boston Ma. Home of the Soon to be 2013 world Champion Red Sox. Maybe even the Superbowl and stanley cup Patriots and Bruins. Too early to tell about them though.
Hullo. 54 year old pale male in Kansas City, Kansas USA. I just faht around on the interwebs for entertainment while I keep me addled old Mither (84 years young) out of trouble. Got into desktops about 3 years ago, and ever since I had my ears boxed for pulling wings off flies (about 50 years ago) I have been torturing one kind of machinery or another. I enjoy Win98SE because it lacks a HAL. It is LIGHTNING on a 3.4ghz P4 !!! R. Leow is my hero - he is nuts (in a good way) running 98 on Core I7's and other outrageous rigs. Wisht I had half his brains. I got on here to see if I could contribute to the W98 thread, usefully. I haven't originated anything cool except inventing "Hillbilly Hyperthreading" which is two different versions of MSDOS running on the different cores of my Core 2 Duo - It makes pretty Mandelbrot fractal sets FAST - sometimes.... I have no life besides wife, house, job, dog and machinery - I'm a total bore! Well, off to the W98 thread I go . . .
The trams [ only foreigner noobs call them streetcars!] go "Ding! Ding!" The weather has all 4 seasons in 1 day. There are more sports to watch per metre than anywhere else: aussie rules, tennis, football...just don't mention that lingerie league nonsense. That is NOT a sport. It can only be one place on earth: Melbourne, Australia!!!!!!!!!!!
