We've been working with independent firms to provide very low-level testing of SafeOnline and comparative tests with other security products. MRG have completed another round of browser security tests with a new bake-off challenge here where SafeOnline was one of the only products that passed: http://malwareresearchgroup.com/?page_id=2

Vendors seem very weary of joining with us in a third party test but the work that MRG are doing is fairly similar to what we were considering requesting that a third party do, so for the time being, MRG appear to be the industry leaders of wide-scope browser security product testing :)

Well that's nice to know, but ......

You specifically asked us to provide leaktests for YOU to test, which i and others did, but we've heard NO feedback from you, or if you actually used them ?

Or if you did what were the results ?

If not are you going to ?

Yes, we've brought many of the suggested leaktests into our internal quality assurance team and are now testing against each of them on each operating system/browser combination (a somewhat daunting task considering the scale). We aren't performing a comparative review but so far the newest .143 version of Prevx/SafeOnline has passed all of them :)

Really? When did that happen? It seems yesterday they were not that reliable.

I know MRG have had a less-than-favorable image to some users in the past but based on the depth of their recent tests, I do suspect this image will be changing.

There currently aren't any third party organizations doing wide-scale testing of browser security applications. Many banks are inadvertently taking vendors at their word when adopting their security solutions which can cause significant problems for end users. MRG have been focusing pretty heavily on their "Browser Security Challenge" in their recent testing by directly trying to break through security products.

If you look at the scope of some of these tests, it is quite impressive to see how much effort goes into them and I can't see anything in their methodology that would indicate unreliability.
