Well Panda Cloud apparently let rogue Security Tool go through. Now I'm using CIS 3.13 to protect the Windows desktop. Although I use Google Chrome, my mom uses Internet Explorer. Defense+ will surely block rogues from installing.

IBadget, keep in mind (for the next rogue you come across) many rogue programs act just like any other program out there, and many do not have any malicious files. Most of these programs can be uninstalled but are geared to get you to buy (just like most software out there).

Some rogues don't uninstall cleanly, just like any other regular programs you download. Some rogues ask for your cash, just like other regular programs.

For AVs to detect all of these rogues (even those that aren't malicious), would mean AVs should then detect every program you download and install (as malicious). :)

Yep WinPatrol with its check on Active X/Browser Plug-ins are a nice complementary add on to DW3 (you can also use the startup check and file type lock/homepage lock, other WP's agents are unlikely to trigger something with DW on board)

After trying many different free products I think I've finally settled on the following for resident protection:

    Avira Free
    Threatfire
Geswall free (protecting IE8 and Firefox)
WOT and KeyScrambler personal installed in browsers.

Thanks Kees for your opinion I really like this combination DW+WP, I've exactly wondered what benefits gives me that configuration.

Might want to add a sandbox for your web browser. Sandboxie, Geswall, Defencewall are all good choices.
