Almost 5000 posts on what a current security setup is. WOW. Do you think most every security vendor/maker in the world comes to this thread to see what is cooking?

    Hi blacknight! (bluevik?:p)

Can I ask you some question about your config?
    If yes...

    1. How do you consider that SSM is privated of file protection? It is a real limit, IMHO, for a hips...It's only for this reason (and because it's discontinuated) that I prefear other programs...It's one of the lightest hips I ever tried, and I loved it:doubt:

    2. Why don't you try Limited User Account? in this way you would be better covered and GW wouldn't be necessary.

    3. How do you set KIS? I mean the proactive defense...

I'm a SSM fan, I really appreciate its lightness..:'(

    Regards,
    Kronos

    New setup:

    Realtime:
    DefenseWall v2.54 (beta),
    Kerio Firewall 2.1.5

I found that Kerio 2.1.5 is much lighter for me than L'n'S.

These are two older setups: I changed from SSM to Defense+ 8 CIS when I knew that Vitk had not developed the file protection feature.:( :(

Ya, restricted policies are not a bad idea to harden the protection. But it can be easier to bypass them and to climb user privileges than to bypass a power third part software. And moreover I find them boring, and I'm proud to be able to safe my system running it as admin. :)

I didn't want to post all in one my different setup; I use CIS with Defense + since last July, because I don't like KIS 2009, as I wrote in this forum in the past. I setted KIS 7 with the highest level of security, as usualy I do with whatever security software. :)

Yes it is true but old Kerio is only pure firewall (not HIPS, etc) and since it works for me without any issues i really don't care about that :)

I'm pretty sure he's using the "special" set of rules for it which I think gets updated - I don't remember where it's now, but I've seen it before... or he's using his own. That's my bet. :)

    Added then quickly removed.

    ADAWARE

Next test is spyware doctor, probably do the same.

I got way much security for these apps to handle.

    Thnx fot your answer:)

I mean to use D+ (or other security software) under LUA, not replacing in favour of restricted policies..
BTW I use Defense+ CIS too, I think it's really strong...
