I think I might have to use the Intel 32-bit version, because even though I'm on 64-bit Windows, it only has 3 GB of RAM, which quickly becomes overwhelmed by any 64-bit browser other than (so far) Chromium.
Chrome here on all of my computers. I was wondering what advantages would Chrome (64 bit) bring compared to the standard version?
Maybe this helps: http://www.howtogeek.com/241501/you...it-chrome.-its-more-secure-stable-and-speedy/
It should be noted that google chrome does store data which needs to be permanently resident..safe browsing data etc so one should be careful in cleaning this with system cleaners as in effect you are forcing chrome to continuously download this data. I would just stick with using chromes built-in cleaning.
Switched to Firefox x64 and I like it so far. EDIT: went back to Google, as some pages don't display or work correctly.
I find it odd that people abandon a browser because 1-2 websites do not display correctly.maybe the sites in question are at fault rather than the browser and in my personal experience no browser can render every website out there.
Well I had FF on "test drive". I've used it for a day and got some problems which I didn't encounter while using Chrome. Even on this forum option Remove formatting wouldn't remove it from all the text that I copied from other sites. So I had to copy text to Notepad (to remove formatting) and then copy it from Notepad back to this forum. I didn't have similar problems with Chrome.
W. XP Firefox for primary browser. The best choice. Slimjet Portable for secondary browser. Pro 1) PepFlash update directly 2) Saving memory manager. Con 1) http://www.slimjet.com/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=998 2) http://www.slimjet.com/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1003 (no problem with uBlock Origin) 3) No pass test "H264" and "MSE & H.264": https://www.youtube.com/html5 All tests passed with Firefox W.10 Chrome x64
I installed PPAPI version of Flash for Opera and Chromium from here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
I rarely use it and also have it set to click-to-play. Sandboxie and SRP would very likely protect me if I make bad decision.
Firefox. I will be loyal to Mozilla until the bitter end (which I fear is coming eventually); despite chrome being a solid functioning piece of kit, Google is the opposite of Mozilla in terms of being scary.
I guess I will be the odd duck... IceDragon because it was the only one I could get set up that allowed me to have zero cookies (including the Google Pref super cookie).... But even it had to be configured in options --> Security/ uncheck reports on attach sites and web forgeries... Anyhoo.... I am the last xp window user of IceDragon
