Online Armor++ uses the Ikarus/A2 antimalware engine and does very well against these threats. OA Oasis does similar functions to Prevx in terms of evaluation of new threats, but I think there is currently more analyst intervention involved in updating the threat databases (whitelist/blacklist) than with Prevx. Since I am using OA++ now, will probably not renew the Prevx licenses I bought previously, although I do like their approach.

Yeah, I don't think OA gets nearly enough credit for their very convenient "run safer" feature. Stuff I read says that there is a huge increase in malware resistance just by dropping your privileges so you can't do the things the malware wants. :)

Based on the asquared/ikarus engines the experience I've had amounts to great detection but poor cleaning/removal. However, that was with a2 alone; so combined with a solid HIPS like OA cleaning missed malware shouldn't be an issue.

I think it's more like browser isolation, but I don't know that it means sandboxing too.

In a sense. Run Safer lets you conveniently reduce privileges of individual processes to those of a local user, and still run necessary processes as an admin. Malware inherits these reduced privileges from browsers etc, so can't do things like installations, storage in protected areas, interference with other processes, etc. that are often used by malware to cause problems. One article http://www.wizcrafts.net/blogs/2009...uced_user_privileges_stops_92_of_malware.html estimates you can eliminate 92% of malware by just reducing privileges . So argue about the percentage, but it still seems like an extremely important thing to do, and OA is sure a lot easier to deal with than UAC and the privilege management of Windows. :)

Yes; very much like DropMyRights but conveniently integrated into OA for any OS.
