Can'tell you about bufferzone from first hand, but I know of a friend who is an IT-manager and they reviewed some virtualisation/policy management programs for employees needing admin rights on their laptops.

From the test they did I recall (about two years old)

    Sandboxie, best protection
    SafeSpace, No2
    GreenBorder, No3
    Bufferzone, No 4
Altris (more a testing tool than security tool), no5

    Policy management
GesWall and DefenseWALL ended EX EQUO with Sandboxie

In the end they choose GeSWall for central admin ease of use.

    Cheers

I remember (quite awhile ago and an early version) a certain competition to circumvent bufferzone and a certain developer that did and won the money, that's the last time I looked at BZ - may take it for a spin.

I wonder if he collected and what he spent the money on. Probably not beer.

While looking for a current review of BZ I found a comment on Softpedia about a similar software called WindowZones where you can setup a safe or admin zone for all your applications. Don't think I've heard about it and nothing appeared here in a search so I may look at that one also.
