I am now back with Norton and Rapport and it's all down to you. I look forward to your next post as I do have a lot of other stuff on my computer that I'd like to dump.

No offense intended but are you having a blonde moment? The decision of removing WSA did not make much sense to me. It is just me or all of this seems just made up, out of any possible rationality. May be I am missing the point somewhere... but where? o_O

To each their own. But, if you have disinfected as many machines that I have that were running some flavor of Norton, I would think twice about that decision...

not wanting to bash anyone here but this i agree with, i have to HONESTLY say now i have probably somewhere in the area of just over 100 clients with wsa now and overall its been probably close to 6 months or so and i have not had ONE call from a infected machine and i only had one call about a problem related to webroot. the only thing i have really heard from them was when the prevx switched to webroot as a upgrade. then my phone blew up from the users who had prevx and didnt know why nor wanted the upgrade till i explained things.

Ditto. :) I have roughly half that many clients running WSA and none of those machines have ever been infected in well over six months now. It is what it is. :thumb:

Haha lol. We could look at it this way, seems like all you have to do is to make a post about how less good Norton is compared to WSA, and the member will change back in the blink of an eye :D

Hmmm... Maybe something along the lines of the value of all the megabytes Norton gives you comparatively. Norton allows every single computer to have hundreds of megabytes of information stored locally. That's what the hard drive is for after all: Storing information! It's not critical for that information to be up to date (we all know that people who don't send completely fake pictures to singles sites send pics from years ago, before they developed a beer belly). Please note that Norton's disk usage is measured in hundreds of megabyte, not hundreds of mebibytes. Nobody understands mebibytes anyway, so it's okay.

Plus Norton uses your CPU cycles to process these millions of bytes of information (a byte is two nibbles, mind you). Since you normally aren't using most of those cycles for anything, it's not a problem for Norton to use them. The average CPU is underutilized the vast majority of the time, running at perhaps a tenth or less of its full capacity. Norton ensures that the CPU stays at peak performance by exercising it regularly. Just make sure you're not trying to use the computer when it's being exercised heavily and you'll be fine.

Norton also has an excellent real world failure rate. The amount of stuff it lets by and will never catch in real real-world situations (as opposed to fake real-world situations, like "real world tests") helps supply computer repair shops all over the world with business. This takes money out of the pockets of less-intelligent-but-well-paid computer users everywhere and puts it back into circulation through the computer stores, thus helping the economy. The money goes to the computer repair shop, then is used to buy parts from huge companies that give money to their shareholders. It goes into the stocks system and the banks and is given to students who will be paying it back tenfold across thirty years.

So Norton is definitely a tremendous product. It ensures your CPU stays warm and active, it makes use of drive space that you would never use (in megabytes, not mebibytes!), and it helps keep millions of college graduates in debt and computer repair shops in business. I highly encourage some people to use Norton for these reasons.

1 mebibyte is 1,048,576 bytes so norton must be very hungry. :D
