Guys, can you recommend any VPN for Iphone? On PC I use PIA but I find their Iphone VPN not really reliable, it disconnects very frequently, basically any time the phone gets locked. So, I am looking for another provider and I can pay for that service. Currently I am trying HotSpotShield (7 days free trial) which seems working well. I would like to use it just for better security when connected to public wi-fi rather than for total privacy. I mean if it's a no-log VPN is better but this is not a key requirement. Thanks.
I would use a VPN provider which uses OpenVPN and use it in combination with the OpenVPN Connect app. If you have iOS8, it has a "Seamless Tunnel" option to keep the VPN alive during sleep, lock etc. You can transfer the OpenVPN config files, certs, keys etc to your iPhone via iTunes.
I've seen some providers using IPsec on smartphones. That should be secure, yes? Or is that what OP sees dropping too much? Is OpenVPN "hardier" than IPsec under unfavorable conditions? It does get through firewalls better, right?
