Once it has reached the Desktop in Win 8 it takes a further 1min 48 secs (108 secs) to activate.

Sorry I find it slower than 1.24 also on Win 7 x64. But I guess we will have to wait till Dan runs VS as a service.

Well, I think that it hasn't been optimized yet.

Thank you guys, I will see what I can do to speed it up! I am going to work out these other couple of bugs first, they should be pretty easy.

Hey, can you please try one thing for me?

    Can you disable the following...

"Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" - Basic Settings

    and

"Self Protect VS from being killed" - Advanced Settings.

Do either of those make a difference? Thank you!

"Self Protect VS from being killed" is the issue, unchecked and loads fast like the others. :thumb: I tried again and it took 20 seconds longer so I unchecked "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" and 2 reboots and stays fast both times.

    Daniel

    EDIT: See above.

Good Evening! Has the bug been repaired when installing...when you click on upgrade to new version...and reboot. Do you not click...or does it install automatically without having too reboot? I'm a tad confused. Sincerely...Securon

Cool, thank you! I think we are on to something! So "Self Protect VS from being killed" slows it down when it is checked, but "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" does not slow it down when it is checked, correct?

Thank you for you help! If this is the case, I will see what the problem is asap!

It's cool... all the reboot does is disable UAC. If UAC is already disabled, or you are running XP, you never have to reboot!

I need to check this in the installer for XP, and not reboot. Once we have a really stable version of VS and I have fixed the cmd / msi issue, and the start up speed issue, I will refine the installer a little more. Thank you!

I have both unchecked and that's the fastest method but putting the check mark back on "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" it adds about 20 seconds or so.

It's one of the Windows Side Bar Gadgets for Win 7 & Vista which are not available anymore.

Also I'm using SSD's and I got this and the quickest time with both unchecked Dan!

But this is my true Boot time from Diskeeper 2012 with Hyperfast for SSD's.

Ok, I think this version is bug free, but if not, please let me know!

    https://voodooshield.com/freeoffer/Install VoodooShield.1.25.exe

You do not have to reboot after installing, and it should not ask you to update. If it does ask you to update, please just click NO. The installer should say "This will install VoodooShield 1.25 on your computer" on the first screen.

Everything should be working just right. It took awhile, but it was well worth it. Now we just have to figure out the cmd / msi issue, the Windows Folders for XP, speed up the startup (running as a service will fix this for sure), and the bug with Disk Cleanup. Thank you!

Oops, the CPU is spiking in Smart Mode / OFF. I will fix that soon. Other than that, it should be working great!
