Do I need to uninstall 2.06 first? Also when I check for updates via 2.06 it says I have latest version, why?

The updater doesn't always work in my experience. If you download the 2.0.7 installer & run it, it will remove the old version for you. In fact there will be a prompt to ask your permission to uninstall it. You could uninstall it first of course.

Is the x64 VLC still technically a beta?

According to the web page for Windows downloads, the x64 build is "Experimental".

Works fine on my system and without any issues. I've been using the experimental version for quite a while now.

    Ah yea.

My favorite all time substitute video player. Came in very handy when a good DVD player was hard to come by without going broke.

Will the 32 bit version work on Windows 8 64 bit? If not, how stable is the 64 bit Beta version?

If I try the 64 bit version, do I need to uninstall the 32 bit version first or will the 64 bit installer do the 32 bit uninstall for me?

    Thanks in Advance.

The 32 bit works on every platform.

I haven't tried the 64 bit version. Can't help with it.

If you try the 64 bit version, I'd uninstall the 32 bit one. I sincerely doubt they would coexist well.
