I kind of like Edge (Edge for business) Workspaces on corporate laptop. Good to hear that Vivaldi implemented them, because I am not going to use Edge on personal laptop
Are Workspaces available on Android too? If not is there a plan for it?

 

I don't know about Android, but I'm not exactly impressed with how Vivaldi implemented Workspaces on the desktop. The problem with Vivaldi is that sometimes it offers too much customization options to the point it becomes too complex. With that I mean, stuff should already work out of the box, without you having to figure out how stuff like Command Chains work, which is way too complex for me. I want to make separate buttons on the statusbar for the different workspaces, but good luck with that.

No, Workspaces are not available on mobile. AFAIK, there aren't any plans, at least in the near future, to implement Workspaces on Android (and iOS) either.
We do have a feature request for it on our Forum, though.

Give that topic a thumbs up to show your support. Who knows, perhaps one day you'll be able to create Workspaces on your mobile devices as well.

When you know how and are willing to tinker with the browser, you can make Vivaldi do almost anything, but I do agree that not everyone wants to or should be expected to do it. Though, the browser is constantly evolving and we do make improvements to our features all the time. Even if a feature is released, it doesn't mean the work is done, there's usually more that can and will be done to make it even better. Often the follow up changes are based on user feedback, so thanks for sharing yours.
Regarding Workspace buttons, did you see the video my colleague made, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iurPss7fBVQ ? It includes step-by-step instructions for adding a button for each workspace on toolbars of your choice.

 

As @anon posted, yesterday we released Vivaldi 6.2 both on desktop and Android.
A comment we've heard often is that Vivaldi is slow, which this release has addressed.
Have you already updated your Vivaldi and did you notice the improvement in speed? I sure did.

 

Does someone make some specials modifies (flags, shortcuts, policies, etc.)?

 

Thanks, will check out the video. But another thing that bugs me about Vivaldi is that it takes so long to fix stuff. The problem with favicons hasn't been fixed, same goes for not always being able to select and search for text, when text is on top of an image. Also, still no mouse gesture for stacking tabs. Don't get me wrong, I still believe Vivaldi is the best browser out there, but I'm not on board with Vivaldi's development team, it seems they give priority to the wrong things.

I haven't updated to Vivaldi 6.2 yet, but I read that opening new windows is now faster, but I don't use multiple windows, I use tabs? Or do they mean that tabs management has become more snappy too? Because I do know that Edge feels way more snappy than Vivaldi, but probably because it's sort of like integrated. But less RAM usage would be welcome too, so I'm definitely going to check out Vivaldi 6.2 soon.

Is it just me, or does Vivaldi's .exe file keeps getting bigger and bigger? I don't hope it also means it's getting more bloated. I will soon install it, and report back to see if anything as been improved. I'm still at Vivaldi 6.1 because it works just fine.

As I have explained before, I'm not that worried about security issues, because my security tools should take care of both known and unknown holes in for example browsers. But I wished I never upgraded from Vivaldi 6.1 to 6.4, because 6.4 is a complete disaster when it comes to performance, the developers messed up big time. I will now have to perform a complete reinstall of Viv 6.1 (what a waste of time) and I won't be upgrading anytime soon.

Latest release. Saved sessions how do I delete old saved sessions? The delete button is gone.

Edit: Now the delete option is only available through the side panel.

 

Good to see that they copied my idea about Workspace Rules, so turns out those developers are actually reading the stuff that is being posted on the Vivaldi forum.
