Virtualisation Freeware That Endures After ReBoot

Hi All

Is there any simple software, preferably free and NOT full virtualisation suites, that will allow software installs that needs a reboot but is still retained in the virtualised state until it is decided to discard or retain.

Hi Terry, the thread you need about lite virtualization is here although none are freeware. The other prerequisite of carrying over across restart would be the software ShadowUser although it hasn't been updated in a while and the reason it stays uninstalled here.

Although also not free other programs of interest would be Rollback and First Defense-ISR.

I think Microsoft SteadyState offers that functionnality, but you should check.
